What kind of fool thinks it is a good idea to allow COVID infected people to freely move into states that have Zero infected people in their communities? A couple of our elected officials are trying very hard to get their names in the paper, it appears.

If the authorities cannot get the tracing Apps right, what hope do we have if Lockdowns are completely ended?

I agree!
Time a few of us manned the border with shotguns I think?
Planes should be grounded immediately.
Heard it said that the few that get sick or die is worth it to keep the economy going.
(as long as it isn't them!!)
Iza what was your premier in hospital for?

And which numnut decided that hotel quarantine was suitable for the Afghan refugees?
It has already failed local people.
“If you insist on repeating an action, you should not be surprised if you have the same result.”
It would be far better for both the refugees and Australia for the refugees to be quarantined in a facility like Howard Springs. Less chance of either the virus escaping into the community, or cross-infection within the refugee group.
BTW I’m fully behind bringing the Afghans to Australia. Disappointed we couldn’t bring out all those who helped our soldiers. I just hope they were thoroughly screened to weed out any potential troublemakers. I’m trusting that helping our soldiers was a self-selecting filter.

Dunno about this latest stoush but there were plenty of Viets that played both sides. Ah well, come to Aussie and set up a business using all the poppy growers from around your own area. Sounds a bit too familiar methinks.

Why are they letting truckies criss cross across borders? I know we need them BUT at least they should only be allowed to hop here and there ONLY if they can prove they have been fully jabbed. therefore lessening the risks. Disagree with the newest refugees being in hotel lock down should have been as Ray said taken to Howard Springs or similar as there is so much work to be done with all the paperwork etc. When I came back to Oz from NZ I had to have a full medical and X/Rays to make sure I didn't have TB.

Remember yrs ago some "boat people" escaped from a refugee center and took off into the outback? I think they found a couple of them but another couple of them were not found ??? Anyone have any info on that.?

In Newcastle, we have had tree loppers come from Sydney wandering around going door to door without masks asking if any trees need lopping while I have advised my regular clients that, despite me being fully vaccinated, I will not be attending their premises to clean their cars while we are in lockdown.

Truckies may be a problem if they don’t follow the rules. But, of course, AFL footballers are immune and can’t spread the virus.
Otherwise they wouldn’t be allowed to travel (complete with their families) to Qld & WA without problems.
Something is rattling around my brain… something about “bread and circuses”?

If we really wanted to keep truckies from crossing state borders, easy enough for them to swap trailers to a Prime Mover and driver from a COVID free state.

Smart people at the NSW/Qld border are handing supplies and materials across the concrete road barriers marking the border. There is one example of of two hairdresser businesses swapping workers. Apparently it is working out well.

It would be good if the whingers got off their arses and come up with work arounds. Figures out recently show that a lot, a whole lot, of businesses are doubling or tippling their turnover by being smart about it. Of course, some businesses are totally stuck in a whole world of hurt, but that is where Govt assistance should be directed.
