I'll go with either one actually! (or both?)
At least they put their own money where their mouth is.

Ummmm....... might need to sprinkle something on the corn flakes to cheer you up a bit RonNoggins wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 11:24 am My first thoughts when I hear of another election coming up is:-
"Another Erection to raise some prick in Parliament to screw us all"
I might be a bit too cynical for some here but I do think I have encapsulated the Errectoral Processes.
First, woo us with promises and sweet talk.
Then when a partnership is established, get control of the purse strings and use them to bully the "partners" into submission.
Then, when full control is established, finish the actions by convincing the "partners" it's for your own good", as well as the usual"trust me" and "you'll never find someone as good as me to help you live a completed life".
This sounds like a bad marriage that some of us may have endured sometime in our life. ( politics is not much different to that, is it.)
The only difference is that we can change partners every new Errection hoping the next incumbent ain't gunna screw us as hard as the last one, and can at the very least give us something to smile at as they blithely forge ahead in the power game of politics.

I think a default "None of the above" should be added to all election papers, if the vote is deemed informal or that box is actually marked by the voter, then that number presented at the vote count for each electorate .... if that is the highest count in that electorate, a new election must be called and those candidates that attempt the tricky path of trying again, need to address the reasons they were not trusted for the job ...... maybe we would eventually get the sort of govt we want, not forced to pick from the crap that was on offer .....

Did think of a funny headline after reading and replying to Ron's post
"Little Blue Pills win major Erection Victory"

Re: It’s Election Time again…
This will probably be the election we have to have, same as the recession we had to have that drove so many small businesses and mortgage holders to the wall and increased profits for banks and big business.
I'll vote as I always do, if there's a decent independent, they get my vote and the major parties get put last. If there's no decent independent, then it becomes and informal vote, an empty ballot paper and that goes for the senate and lower house, which couldn't get any lower for credibility.
As for the promises of all parties, no change, promise the lot and then give it all to their vested interests. As for the fast rail, that's been promised so many times and never gets anywhere and do we need fast rail. What's the big deal with wanting society to go faster and faster, wouldn't it be better for our society to slow down a bit so people can enjoy their lives, rather than being constantly pushed to buy buy buy.
All the parties want to bring in more people, the last claim is over 200000 a year more immigrants, plus workers, plus students, plus refugees, so they can drive economic growth. But economic growth is just profit growth for big business and less and less for the people. Our services can't keep up, infrastructure can't cope, housing is so expensive young people have to live 2 life times to pay for it. The hospital system is a basket case and they are pushing fossil fuels and totally neglecting electrifying all transport, whilst our environment collapses all around us and climate is also changing to our detriment.
Wonder what would happen if the people did a Hong Kong, only 30% turned out to vote because the commo's picked the candidates and no different to our political parties choosing their useless ideological clones for candidates.
