Well the water is still here this morning!
I'll get a few more photos to explain some things a bit for those who have never seen the Marina & it's surrounds.
In that photo from a drone, the road that we used to drive on is just on the inside of the dark ring which is the trees that have been planted to try to reduce the wind.
Most of those who have decided to stay on their boats either have dinghies or speedboats that are used to travel to a place around in the residential housing area where we have been granted use of a couple of pontoons to use to get off / get on our boats. These people who haven't yet built their houses have allowed us to park our cars on the property as well.
So..... we go by boat, get off & secure the boat, go shopping etc then in reverse order.
In the marina at present we have a very strict speed limit & in particular, no wake or wash as we have to travel past flooded houses & don't want to cause more grief.
I'll do a screen grab of the layout but of course before the extra water!!

Should start up a delivery service Bruce, they ring in their orders, you pick up and charge delivery fees, more for some than others. ;) ;)

A marina water taxi service, pick up and drop off at the swim deck. It won't take long before most are sick of having to get in the boat, motor up to the car park, wade through the mud/water, into the car, then the reverse to return to the house boat. The delivery mobs made a killing during the Covid lockdown periods, so there is always a demand for an easier method and they will pay to receive it.
There will be plenty of people up and down the river that would need a similar service as well ...... Skidoo eats maybe

If you are a member of Everything Caravan and Camping facebook site here is a video of the flooding at the marina at Mannum. As the facebook site is not public, non members won't able to access the video.

Just had a quick look at the river rise over the last week, Walker Flat 3.76 14/12 - 4.37 21/12 = 0.61 mtr rise, Mannum Wharf 2.18 14/12 - 2.42 21/12 = 0.24 mtr rise, so we can expect around another 0.4 rise by Christmas/boxing day. looking at the last weeks rise at Lock 1 Blanchetown, it's gone up around 0.55 mtr, so be tween now and New Yrs we should see another mtr river rise.
Then the mtr of water coming down the Darling still has to reach Menindee and later Wentworth, from there on things will get real wet .....

It might be a very interesting Australia Day if it reaches here by then .....

It's been a while since we have had an update from anyone along the river in SA. I can only hope that all is well, and there aren't any problems. Perhaps there is a network issue due to the water levels. Regardless, I hope everyone in any of those areas are safe and well.

When G and myself went to T1'shouse on Xmas day we went along the Sedan Road for a few ks. Turned R) onto a dirt road for a few more ks then R) at intersection onto Purnong Rd and then a couple of ks to T1's place. The water was lapping at the edge of the road but had not reached the tar. Before we headed home we took a drive towards Mannum but the road was blocked off by dirt and a lot of water over the road so turned around and headed home back the way we came. Probably worse now.
