Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dot, you will need to have many slow days now to catch up your strength, but you already know that. keep taking it easy. Those plum trees sound like they're worth visiting. An orchard would be so loverly, but hey, the trees would interfere with the view apparently. xxxx

The kiln did good last night, bad luck about the piece inside. it managed to split, so it's back in there tonight getting fuzed back together again and the bits of red glass, left off the red plate/bowl are also in (on another shelf) being fuzed back together . never a dull moment. But I am back in the shed and not in the house, for a while each day now. Don't expect to be doing anything great or spectacular, just some rebuilds to make things more commercial.

Had a progress meeting for a couple of hours this afternoon and that was also a good escape from the house. The town is in good hands, these people are all working on projects to keep us coming back for more.

night all xxx

Gman finished Brian's outside area upgrade and Brian is pleased. I potted around outside not achieving much at all. Got final tests results today = happy to report there are no parasites invading my gut. I also decided not to have the colonoscopy that was booked for next Monday. House at the back of us is now on the market, she is going into the local retirement village, as she is finding the garden a bit too big now. G is off to the GP tomorrow to have his tennis elbow looked at and maybe a steroid jab. Next week I am starting to sort stuff out again end of sickie time to get going again. Off to bed now so stay safe one and all. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Noggins x :D

Dot, you should have had the colonoscopy last week, no preparations would have been needed! Slow down with the moving stuff hey? You don't want to blow a whoowhoo valve xxxx

The kiln didn't fire all night as it should. The controller went on strike declaring the shed was too hot for it to continue working. So the same load is back in there tonight. The only difference is that I left the shed window open like I did last night, but also left the sliding door wide open. The breeze should keep it cooler and the kiln is safe from thieves, too hot to touch. It's only gotten down to 22 upstairs in the house now, so I can understand why the kiln was unhappy.

We received our power account today and it was the first time, in a long time, that our usage bill was lower than our solar credits....not saying anything about not running the kiln for the last couple of months! :o :o

Dot, regarding G's tennis elbow, during the 80's I had serious pain from TE and went thru the steroid jab business without success. I then went to a physio who had me lay on my back on a table holding onto the side with my hands, she then took hold of my chin and back of head and pulled slowly. The elbow pain disappeared instantly and she continued the pressure for a few minutes then advised that I should have my wife apply the same treatment each day for a week. I have never suffered tennis elbow since,

Dot, stay doing things slowly for a while. Thinking of you mate xxxx

Boy it's been another hot day and still 23 degrees at 1 am. I hope it will clear back to being medium hot and not so cloudy. I think the cloud is keeping the heat from moving up and away.
My dragon fruit cactus is delivering me with some beautiful fruits. I had the first one of the cactus fruit yesterday and it was so delicious. Mine are the variety that has red fruit inside the skin. I was especially happy to have beaten the possum to it, like it has done in previous years. As soon as it started to look ripe, I had his lordship climb up to cut it down for me. Last night, I heard the possum taking his nightly run across the roof and it returned to his tree, very quickly. That was very satisfying.

Had a doctors visit today and back on more painkillers and worst is the absolute need for the damned drug lyrica. I really hate taking it, but at the moment the need to get things under better control is high and it's matching my pain levels. If I start talking crap, blame the drugs not me. :o

Kiln fired well last night, with the shed door wide open. I returned one of the bits with a former under it, to make it into a sandwich plate and some of the lumps made from the red bowl have gone in to get more rounded. The science of all this stuff is amazing and knowing how to make really sharp ugly blobs turn into rounded neat balls is just so satisfying.

Missed a goodnight last night as went to sleep in the chair. :D Today was very hot 36 deg outside. Turned the air con on at 5pm until 6pm . NC George the physio asked for an ultra sound of G's elbow as nothing was working (she does trigger point therapy as well) Dr got G appointment for U/Sound next week but said it may be Bursitis which may have the jab but if a tear then rest and time is the treatment. Have to wait and see. Seeing the free legal advice people tomorrow for the roof man and his refusal to pick up the registered letter informing him of the proceedings we intend to take. Mongrel of a man. Deborah I hope your nasty meds do the job but like you I hate Lyrica. Always amazed at what people chuck out on the footpath but guess it is cheaper than going to the tip. We get no free pick ups. Thankfully it's supposedly cooling down in the next few days so we may head off for a few days. Shirley how about a pic of you out on the water in your newly acquired canoe  Stay safe everyone, early night got hair cuts tomorrow Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Tanks x :D Have a restful sleep

Did some 4WD gardening today.
It’s been a while… did quite a bit of it when we first moved in… particularly with the yucca plants & spiky palms.
Today’s effort was removal of some very old lavender plants alongside the driveway. They had become gnarled and woody, overhanging the driveway so much we had to stick to the other side driving in & out.
As our driveway is gravel, I didn’t want to tear it up spinning the wheels if the lavender proved stubborn.
Instead I parked the MU-X two metres away and ran out my recovery winch. A short chain wrapped around the base, a D-shackle connected to the pintle hook and away we went. 😀
Fortunately the soil was moist and soft. The lavender had no chance. 😁👍😁👍

Time to get some 💤 😴
Tomorrow (actually later today) we’re off to Wagga Wagga for the day at their Caravan, Camping & 4WD Show.
Taking the girls as well. They really enjoyed our week away. Very easy travellers.
I’ll let you know if we buy anything… 😜
Regards & God bless,

Hello Dot, you are sounding a lot better mate. How do you feel? xxxx

Ray, lucky you. I never get to the camping shows these days. His lordship reckons that he has seem most of the junk on his ipad. I gave up on pushiing to go to those shows when covid hit and now that it's still very busy/rampant here making new covids, we are still avoiding places that may be crowded.

Took the sandwich platter out of the kiln, happy me.

I am happy now to sell it. Before it had really weird sides. Even tho it's still got wonky edges, that's the lot of handmade work.
I built the glass lace edges for the revamped red bowl and it's in tonight having the lacy bits fused to the edges. It's nice having some kind of purpose again.

Nothing much else to tell. It was way too hot to go outside for very long. I did give the mango tree a long drink and checked out the dragon fruit tree/cactus. No more fruits turning red just yet. It looks like it will be a bumper crop when it does ripen the fruit.

nighty night xxx
