Where is this?

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

That's a bit precious, one in all in, all 550 of them 5 at a time, then the dogs then the dishes.

Dot:
Not Oakley. I think that base is too small. (Hint!)
Steve:
I reckon Dot's probably close to the truth! No sense wasting precious water...
Ya gotta wait 'til it rains, then run about madly with a bar of soap... :P

We're still no closer to identifying the town where this base was.
Further Hint: The base was SO secret, there was (officially) NO fraternisation with the civvy townsfolk. (Yeah, right! ;))
No townsfolk were allowed on base, either. (I'm sure that was strictly enforced by the desperately lonely young blokes guarding the gates... ;)
And according to our guide, even after WW II until it was decommissioned, it was never shown on maps. Still isn't. It never existed.

Is that in Qld, Dottie?
I didn't know they'd moved it... :P
Besides, Pine Gap was established in the 1960s, and is still operational.

Don't know that there was ever an military airfield in the cane Dot. Maybe it was out west somewhere?
Longreach? There's a big airfield but I am fairly certain that it was never secret.

Dottie,
If the airmen had been in the same town as the Rum Distillery, there's no way the commandant could have kept the men on the base. :P
