Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

This board/thingy is in slow gear Dot, so I gotta be quick, before it loses me again. You had a good day, getting some answers for poor Brian. xxxx

Had a quiet day, with no real stress. Went into the small local town and found the iga. No real surprises in pricing, but toilet paper was $17 for a nine pack. I think it's closer to ten dollars at home, but it's sort of essential, so bought it anyway.

The showgrounds is starting to look a bit like an event is about to explode. People have arrived sooner than they had said in their forms, so haven't paid for tonight. The caretaker has been wandering and asking to see proof of payments and taking cash from them when he can. The halls have been set up and tomorrow we will head on down and mess up their lovely settings by putting things on every space available.

The organisers have had some funny calls this week. Two different men are known traders, and the both have South African origins and both live in Melbum. One rang yesterday, to inquire about the traffic. He planned to leave today and drive here. The other man rang and asked if there was a train station close by. He also planned on leaving Melbum today. They were both told to catch a plane and hire a car. Will be interesting to see if either of them turn up in time for the event. One of them is a really tall black man who always wears a white suit. He is well known to most of us because he really stands out in a crowd. Will be watching out for them.

Dot, are you cold enough to need a fire? xxxx

Just lost another post, hate this working on a laptop that thinks it knows best.

Had a lovely slow start to the day, with a late breakfast. Wandered down to the marquee where the action is happening for us. Happy with the table and where it's been put. His nibs carried all the boxes down to the table and set up the lighting. After doing that, he went and had a nap while I sorted out different boxes and displayed what is needed.

I finished around 3pm as he wandered in telling me I needed lunch. He helped to cover the goods with our fancy velvet covers and we had a lovely lunch in the van. I did some admin organising stuff, for tomorrow and that's been our excitement for the day.

Tomorrow, the real fun will start.

"tanks" here----
good morning all dear friends.
Thanks for your thoughts Dot. The long arduous trip back to Perth will be a run in the park.
Jeff & Pam are flying over to Queensland on a Qantas direct flight Perth to Cairns, and then they are booked onto the electric train to Mackay. They are driving from Mackay to the Dysart Bunker and will spend a couple of days here with me to prepare me for the trip back to WA.
(as if I need to prepare after all of these years of shifting from one place to another after Army life, caravan and motorhome travel).
I have not a lot to do to further "prepare" for the trip. The packing is almost completed - Ray has been a good help with this task and has managed to do in a few hours what would have taken me several days with intermittent rest stops to realign my old back from the bending and the up and down action. DOT --keep it cool there!!!
Pam has managed to have me booked on the same Qantas return flight as they are booked on. She has even arranged for the three of us to have seating together in the front rows of the section with me having an aisle seat ---easy toilet access. With a 5 1/2 hour flight I may have to point Percy and all of that; but too much detail for one so pure - as am I.
By the way, the Dysart temp after yesterday storm and major lightning display is now 25c and the sky is clear, with the sun about to shine for the day and make living in Queensland under the existing control mob almost agreeable. Joy, Ray and I are just managing to get by without "Welcome to Country" every morning and again before lunch.

Keith
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Dot, you enjoying those fresh peaches and custard, lucky you xxxx

Dot and Jon, thanks for the good thoughts. We did a few small sales on Friday, but it was bucketing down so only the mad keen rock people came out.

Last night we had the full orchestra of storms. It seems like they were coming from several directions and managed to get together, right above us. It went on for quite a long time, hence no computer at all.

Tanks I hope all your plans work out well for your trip. Sounds like all of your planning is brilliant, fingers crossed for you mate.

Today, the sun was shining and the people came out to play. There were very strong winds, so a lot of the customers only stayed inside our area to spend their dosh...happy for us. Another sunny day tomorrow and more trading for us.

sweet dreams xxx
Deborah
