Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!
The thieving low life, took mainly tools, some with great sentimental value, another ketch was broken into on Friday night in the bay south of us & a boat around in Gwando near the Lioness park also a house during the week, certainly most probably the same mongrels, hopefully karma & the police will catch up with them,
Police have been more prevalent in the area owing to vandalism & youth riding unregistered motor bikes, even the soccer field was attacked all bush has been fenced off where the kids use to enjoy riding, really don’t know the answer to it, not the idyllic little village it use to be & now another 400 houses being built in Crangan Bay estate.
Taking a long route home Dot. Hope it's warmer than here xxxx
Shirley that is so not right. Your little piece of paradise should stay that way. I'm with you, hope karma gets them in ways that I can't imagine. Cops doing their jobs would be good too.
We tried to stop the Crangan Bay extravaganza, but obviously our small groups submissions didn't stop them from building yet another overcrowded, densely constructed community that will have no resources and put an even bigger strain on our horspitals, schools etc.
Our day was punctuated with a visit to the xray clinic, for our over seventies bone density. That was so much fun...not. Last time I had one of them done, it was a quick once passed the machine and seeya later. Today it was a lot more involved. Anyway, we did a bit of grocery shopping on the way home. Cheese is now declared a luxury in this house as well as tomatoes ($10 per kilogram, forget it) Barely walked in the door and the phone was ringing. Our GP didn't like the look of his nibs bone density, make an appointment to see him. Well we know to expect that result. Our endocrinologist had made him stop the pills for ostoeporosis, because they had done a good job. But he was expecting it to be only a year off the tablets, so obviously he will have to return to the tablets, but not until approved by the endocrinologist.
The rest of the day was just fiddling with some things and not really getting anywhere at all. Too cold for the brain to function any harder, so we both gave up and declared it to be a rest afternoon.
Hi. Looks like winter has arrived. Cold nights here, days are warm enough and keeping very dry. Had a few busy days here with Faye getting her blood tests, scans and then a trip to Adelaide for the results.( six hours traveling for a ten minute appointment ) Thankfully all clear again for another six months. Now we can plan another trip away probably over to Ceduna as I have a brother turning 80 soon. Goodnight all. Goodnight Dot.
Cheers John
Not a lot happening in the lair. I seem to be spending the last two days chasing up tradesmen. Our big gas heater that needs work is still not getting fixed. Had the issue with the plumber since last August and now he is just not even getting back to me or answering calls. I think tomorrow will be the day for me to get proactive and try to find another plumber who will deal with this brand of heater (aurora, made in Aus) Lucky that our air con is almost doing the job, just not as warm on the toes as the gas fire is. It is a fiddly heater and most normal plumbers don't know how they work and refuse to look at them. The manufacturer was only able to give me a couple of names and they will have to travel to get to us, so may be difficult too.
Chopped off the last16 mangoes from our tree. They failed to ripen, so some of them are in the slow cooker getting ready to be made into jam and others are on the window sill trying to find some sunshine. A few more are still in the basket, just to see which is the best process. I think mangoes are picked mostly green and then put into cardboard boxes for transport. My research experiment will tell ... or not.
We are both feeling a bit off, sort of flu but not quite that severe, so not doing a lot at the moment.
Hi Deborah when we were in Darwin with access to plenty of mangoes we would cut the green ones into thing strips and pickle. Go great with a cold beer any day cheers Robert
John,
Good to hear that Faye has the all clear for now. We pray it will continue.
Hoping to make it to Loxton again sometime, probably later this year.
We've booked a return trip to Moore Park Beach in mid-July (along with half of Australia's grey nomads, it seems).
Grabbed the last available site in the beachfront CP.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Robert, that sounds interesting. I will investigate and see what I can find. I am still hoping to be able to just eat the ones that are left. Time will tell.
The mangoes that were getting softened in the slow cooker (on high heat for 4 hours and then left to cool) were so soft and slimy. The skins came off ok and then the rest was easy to mush up in my fingers. Much quicker than chopping the things. From there I spent quite a few hours just boiling up the mangoes and sugar with lemon juice, doing the little drip onto a cold saucer test. I finally gave up and just bottled the stuff. From what looked like water, became a very thick sticky almost toffee. I may have over cooked them! oops. Flavour is good, so tomorrow will see if it is fit to give as gifts or not. So far the jam in the jars is not moving when shaken, so definitely looking a bit solid. Tastes good.
"tanks" here---
I have just had a text session with Our Dot [easier for me to text than talk at times] and her computer is playing up again, so it may be a few days before it is functioning again.
I have just baked a nice sultana loaf cake in anticipation of he Perth mob arriving either Monday Arvo or Tuesday morning.
The kitchen smells nice.
Todays joke for you all:
I was at a nice restaurant for a dining experience, rather than just having a meal and I said to the waitress "Can I ask you about the menu please".
Boy, she was upset and retorted "THE MEN I PLEASE IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS"
So, good night all.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.
The mango jam is perfect thickness and tastes a lot like a marmalade. Maybe used too much lemon juice. I may or may not try another batch, depends on how the other fruits ripen.
Happy Mother's day out there. We had a visit from son and his family, last night. Our daughter was up the blue mountains for an overnight running event. Some people don't know when to grow up, but it does keep them all fit.
The phone was running hot today with the mother's day things, so can't be too picky. I did very little, so even better.
