Bernie, Have you thought about using Devcon. Years ago we used it to hold the bottom bearing in Landrover gearboxes after they had failed and spun in the housing.
I still owe you a call, but I am slack.
Cheers

No David not worth the agro , you have to remove most of the engine to get it off...not something I'm prepared to do on the side of the road out bush .
So piece of mind says put a new cover on .
I have time on my side at home even with a crook knee bad back and animal extraction duties .
Bernie .
Better check my phone works ?

Just a update on my oil cooler cover . I had a quote in Aus , for $300 + gst.
Another from Taiwan for $69 Aus delivered slow boat .
Another from China for $118 Aus delivered Air mail .
I went for the $118 should be here next week ?
Another thing while at the truck place in Maryborough they kept telling me that the timing cover doesn't have a gasket ?
Change of mind when I showed them the gasket clearly shown in the work shop manual which I had with me .
I also ordered all the gaskets from Maryborough they should be at my place some time next week , Cost for gaskets $147 .

Sometimes all the planets align eh Bernie?
We recently had some stuff that was picked up on Saturday morning in China and delivered to us before lunch on Monday. Even the TNT guy would not believe until I showed him the tracking.
