Hate the stupid ads these days, need the good old " In Melbourne tonight" the ads Graham Kennedy did.   G went to the block today and our old residents were back, plovers with 3 eggs so once again G put a couple of bricks a foot or so on either side of them for some protection . We got up to 27deg today , it was great to sit outside for a bit. Rang my NZ M8 for her birthday and she had some good news to share, the new YOUNG judge that heard the last hearing rand her lawyer tonight to tell him he was adjourning the last court until the 6th May 2024 so Sue could have her surgery in peace and not to worry, Lawyer then rang Sue to wish her a happy birthday and tell her the good news and hinted at some things the judge told him which seemed good news but never elaborated :) :) Also the lawyer told Sue todays consult was a birthday present. :o Sounds like the end will be in Sues favor. Guess where I will be for the court case in May? Pudding time now custard and stewed apples. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Supersparky x :D

I guess you will be over the ditch next May, Dot? That sounds like some very good news for your mate. Good luck for the Gman on Thursday XXXX

George, your retaining wall is looking great xxx

Shirley, which of those dashing damsels in your bowls team is you?

We did our vote today and watched an elderly couple being helped to their car. Neither of them could barely walk, looked to be well in their nineties and how the heck do they still have driving licences? Our taxman was the next stop, all good. Then a quick grocery shop was needed. The roadie has not wanted to just drive down the road for groceries, so insisted on us waiting until today. He is in for a shock soon. I am almost finished taking bloody lyrica and will be back on the road again. My independence is important to me and so is my ability to drive.

goodnight one and all xxx

Deborah the 8 of us are a team, we play fours in pennants, so team is divided into 4, for a win we get one point, so if both sides of the team win we get 2 & win the master board for another 3 points, the master board is the total of your 2 sides added together to win the 3 points. Last day we played we won 25-10 scored 1 our others side went down 13-29, added together we went down 38-39 on the master board, Umina scored 4 & we scored 1, we needed the whole 5 points to win a place in the playoff.

Back row left: Kathy lead, back row right: Carol skip.
Front row middle left: Me 3rd, next to me: Karen 2nd, the four that was my half of the team.
Shirley & Bruce.

Twas 31 degs today, Brian to vet for his check up from last week, seems the bugs that were in his ears along with the polyp has decreased nicely so ok for now. Could not believe we do not have any vets on call the nearest on call vet is other side of Mt Barker but you will most likely have to go to the emergency vet hosp in the city 1 hr away. As I said to her if that was the case when my Dobe had his torsion of his spleen he would not have made it, he was extremely lucky that we did have the emergency service then. She said there is a really bad shortage of vets since covid What if a dog or cat needed a C section? too bad all could die. Sad state . G has started stage 1 of his prep and the real good stuff starts at 8am. Got a letter from my Dr's clinic today to say that I need to have a done density scan and they have booked me for next month. Where is everyone lately?? Off to bed early tonight as tomorrow will be a long smelly and noisy day. So goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Bobr x :D

Big day and I am knackered. Left home at noon got into the medical center for Gmans procedures, he was first bum off the rank , all done within 2 hrs and I picked him up at 3.45 and believe it or not he had sandwiches in his hand. No nasties either way but some polyps disposed of. He now has to o for another test down his throat (I think he has had this before) Annoying when things can't be explained. Got home at 5pm. Toasties had for tea ha ha. Off to Mt Barker tomorrow to see the legal rights mob re the roof man. Car told us today she is due for her 3rd service. While I was waiting for G I got a slice of carrot cake, gave the man a $20 note, looked at the change and it was $14 so that scrappy bit of cake cost $6 :o  Can buy the whole cake for that in the supermarket. that has ended any coffee and cake outings, Hope everyone is doing ok where is everyone ?? Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Ray x :D

Gee Dot, it's a shame the doc didn't do a top n tail for the Gman, all in one visit. Hope all is well over there mate xxxx

Been a long day with a ton of phone calls to make. LG sent us a terrifying email that said the lithium batteries for our solar system are now considered to be at risk of exploding or creating a fire ball. They would take no responsibility if this happens unless we have totally isolated the battery and turned it off. I was a bit stressed about this info. I tried to see what needed to be done, but wanted to get our supplier to talk me through the process, so that I caused no harm. Back in March, when all this crap hit the fan, our supplier had sent out a worker to try to find the non existent serial number on the battery. Turns out that the worker took it upon himself to remove the fuse from the battery and put it way up high where I didn't see it. The battery has been totally disabled since March and neither us, nor the supplier had any knowledge of this being done. The bloke did us a favour, but as he didn't tell us what he had done and not informed the boss, I have warned the boss to never send that man back to my house. I am sure that Terry would be not pleased, but our solar system is down in the back of our dungeon and really we never check it. I don't think either of us has the knowledge to do anymore than see if the lights are still flashing. Obviously we didn't even notice that the battery light has gone dead. Will know more soon when the LG people come in person to check it all out.

One of the other phone sagas was a booking at caravan park for next weekend with our jayco mob. NRMA park demanded final payments to be made this week. When I rang them, I asked bout pricing for NRMA members. Group bookings get a standard 10% discount, but NRMA members who choose to stay 4 nights only pay for 3. We suddenly cancelled our group booking and made a new one as NRMA members and saved fair bit of money. I have let all the members know how that works and hopefully more of them will get the cheaper rate.

That's enough for you lot tonight, so night all xxx
Deborah

Sounds like you might have dodged a bullet Deborah.
It looks like most of those solar battery companies have used lithium something batteries by LG. There is a major recall or shut-down notice out for quite a few of those mobs. Looks like they know what the issue is though.
Cheers

Dot, how's the patient? All recovered and bouncing around yet? xxxx

Yes David, LG claim that it is a software issue and they may be able to solve it by changing it, if not replacing the battery is their way of dealing with it. . After all the crap that they keep sending me, I have no trust in that company at all now. Today's two emails were virtually taking no responsibility for any explosions or fire balls unless the battery has been disabled. I agree that the person who disabled the battery in March may have saved our house, but he did it all wrong by me. LG are really trying to avoid litigation, I suspect they already have a few serious cases and are getting a bit scared. I am still waiting for them to give us an appointment time when we are actually at home. I have lost track of the times that they have demanded to visit which have then been followed by phone calls from me to try to get it re-scheduled to a convenient time for us.

Tonight, I sent the offending company a really terse email with all the dates that we are actually home for the next month. Today they managed to send us two emails, one text message and a phone call, all with the same date that we have already phoned them to say that we are not home that day.

As it's Friday 13th, and after all the solar crap, I didn't expect the day to continue in a great way. I wandered down to my shed to find the kiln had shut itself down and had a message that the controller had overheated. It was a hot night and although the sliding door to the backyard was open, the window was closed. I guess it needed more airflow. So I spent the rest of the day in the shed, cutting out glass Christmas trees and watching every cycle of the kiln as it went through the firing that it should have done last night. It seemed like it was doing everything right tonight. At 10pm, it said it had gotten to the top temp needed and had a further 6 hours of cooling down to do. I think it is ok now, so not too worried about it, just a PITA having another day cut from my firing times when I need to have a few things finished before we go away next week.

Hoping that tomorrow will be a much better day. Happy weekend you lot,
nighty night xxx
Deborah

Deborah they did do the 2 at once, he is having the other test like he has had before, that's when they poke a tube down the nose and that records the few sphincter muscles that are down your throat. If they find 0 who knows where to go next ?? my neck man ???.. Yes he is back to his normal self, eating every 5 minutes etc. The Dr rang this morning to see how he was doing, pretty good hey? G went to Mt Barker today to have a chat to the legal people re the roof man, she helped him fill out the extension appeal papers and took it to the court house and by 2pm got an email to say it had been accepted and it will be heard by the judge soon ?? The law is totally up it's own sphincter they don't seem to take notice of written and photographic proof but believe the scum that have nothing but bs. Watched a show called Botched, American of course, what a sick, weird , country of ???? god knows what to call them. If you see it then have a look Makes trump look sort of normal  Time to hit the sack so goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Bernie x :D

Dot, I suspect that you and G are getting the best of care because you have become regulars with the same fancy pants specialists. Good for you mate. Those legal people seem to have their hands tied by a load of BS and the useless judges who don't really bother to read all of your provided information. Good luck with mark 2 of your claim xxxx

This morning, when I went down to check my kiln, all was well. Temperamental behaviour it was showing has now been sorted, just by opening the window. I finished cutting the glass for Christmas trees and all four shelves of them are in the kiln getting warmed up, right now.

Much of the rest of our day, was spent in the rental. Now that it's fully empty, we are finding even more things that need to be dealt with. The local handyman/builder is going to rebuild part of the steps from the verandah to the backyard. That saves us some stress, even tho money will be crossing hands. The next issue we have is that the toilet needs to be replaced. The floor tiles are a "delightful" mission brown throwback from the sixties and while they are really horrible, it's a small room and they do the job. When a new toilet is installed there is bound to be a fairly big gap between dunny and tiles. Any ideas of how to fix this without replacing the tiles?

Take it easy on yourselves,
night all xxx
Deborah
