Shirley, If you give us a hint which ones are correct, we will work out the other one eventually
Sorry Kay, I should have had a proper look at who asked the question, not just who posted before me.
Cheers

I have never heard about this but imagine something to do with a place where lots of Chinese had settled, maybe during the goldrush days in Vic or SA, maybe FNQ.

Yes Bruce that is the one I was referring to
Sorry I should have spent some more time writing the question
We were at the site around 2008, to save the ten pound Victorian landing tax the Chinese miners elected to land in South Australia and walk to the Victorian gold fields, needed water so built the wells along the way. The one piece sandstone lid weighs in the vicinity of 1000 kilograms - how on earth was this lifted in place

Sorry folks! Been a little pre-occupied. (is that a word Ray? Spell check is having a fissy fit!)
Fissy fit (?
) probably caused by the unnecessary hyphen.
Otherwise you used the correct word,
and spelled it right!
ps. Is a fissy fit something like a hissy fit? Or did you perhaps mean a “fissy hit”?

Ray

Only likely suspect I can find is Mickleham, which I would not exactly call ‘remote’....
