Greynomad

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Tanks, (and everyone else)
Thanks for the good wishes.
Because I have had Myeloma my bones take longer to heal than normal.
I was told to expect healing to take three months or more, compared to normal healing of 6~8 weeks.
It has now been six weeks and a few days since my fall, and the ribs are still moving. If I move the wrong way they bite.
I am not yet strong enough to drive, and have only today managed to put on my (non-laced) shoes without assistance. Even so, it was a painful process. Fortunately I don’t own any shoes with laces. 😜
We expect that I won’t be ready for travel for maybe six months.
We’ll see what develops.

Started raining properly today. Steady soaking rain. The parched soil is once again saturated, and after just 12 hours of rain we can see the grass greening up nicely.
Forecast for tomorrow is more rain, possibility of local flash floods, as it will be heavier than today’s gentle soaking. 🌧
Still too early to call it drought-breaking, but we’re glad to see it. 😀
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Ray,

I do feel for you. The little movements hurt. My op was Aug 24th, it took until Jan before I could sneeze without grabbing for the pillow. I remember lying in bed half asleep just sneezing and sneezing. It was the most beautiful feeling to be able to fill up with air and let go with the biggest loudest

I am getting more mobile.
Can wander around the house without using my walking stick.
Still need it when venturing outside, where I might be standing/walking for a while.
And I still need to rest frequently when walking.
Deep breathing still a journey into the World of Pain. But gotta do it to keep lung inflated & infection-free.

It will be 10 weeks on Sunday since my fall, and I’m still in pain.
Dr has slightly reduced the potency of my medications, and significantly so with the opioids.
I only need to use a walking stick if I know I will be standing for a while.
All in all, I’m not doing too badly, considering the damage I did to myself.
Regards & God bless,
