Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

"tanks" here---
I plan to have an early night tonight. Perth is experiencing off-and-on heavy rain showers and squalls, and very gusty winds.
It's nice to be inside watching the TV. Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Goodnight Keith. We are up at Hervey Bay now. Had a relatively uneventful trip up here, apart from a bit of a hold-up on the northern fringe of Brisbane due to a minor traffic incident.
It was a lovely afternoon here, we had a lovely walk along the beach at low tide.
Looks like Dot still isn't well enough to be back posting here.
I hope all those on the sick list can get well and back to doing what they enjoy.
Cheers
David

Dot & George, get better asap, but take as long as you need. Nobody seems to have the same symptoms to the same disease. Scary thing for you both. Stay warm and dry xxxx

Keith, hope you are warm and dry. An early night is always good in a storm.

Today we had a lovely lunch as a big group. Our leader had a lot of things in his freezer that needed eating (all leftover from club events). For lunch he cooked us a lovely sausage and hamburger sanger. Another member is part of his local SES catering group. They had a call out yesterday. He kindly brought all of the salad leftovers to add to lunch. We had a few extra visitors, so our numbers were good. One couple who have been away for a long while due to his cancer treatment, came along for lunch. Another couple who live close by, called in too. So it was quite a big group who stayed together for lunch.

By dinner time, our leader brought out some hot pumpkin soup, to which members added plates of party pies, sausage rolls, tiny quiches and chat potatoes. We ended up having feasts for both lunch and dinner. The best part was the company and we all enjoyed the time together.

hoping you are all well

goodnight xxx

Dot and G, you still not too great? Fingers and toes are crossed for your speedy recovery xxxx

We had an uneventful trip home today. It is even colder here at home, but at least we can turn on the big gas heater to warm our tootsies.

The van is half unpacked and down the yard. We decided to leave a lot of things in the van, because we are leaving again on Thursday to head off to Penrith (Western Sydney) for a weekend gig. The freezer is keeping the food ready to take off, it seemed a waste of energy to bring all the food upstairs and have to drag it back on Thursday morning. Only a minimum has come up with us.

All the clothes have been washed and are having a toasty time in front of the heater. Hoping they will be ready to pack back into the van tomorrow.

I had an email from our solar man with a suggested battery replacement that is Lithium Iron Phosphate, so have sent Terry a message to ask his thoughts. I think he has more experience with this than anyone else that I know.

That's all of our excitement,
night all xxx

Penrith can get hot during the day, and real cold at night, no ocean to stabilise the temp and at foot of the Blue Mtns, so the sun goes behind the mountain early.
I hope the rivers have settled a bit, you might get wet feet just getting there ....

Dotty, xxxx

Shirley and Terry, yes it will be extra cold there this time of year. We lived in Blacktown for thirty years, so the weather won't be too big a surprise. Terry, our son still lives near Penrith and he tells us that the water levels are all good now, but it was a timely warning.

Business is already packed into the beast and most of the caravan is packed. The winds were so horrible here that we decided to take the van up to the street tomorrow, where we will pack all the warm, dry clothes into it. It's a max trip of two hours, so we won't be rushing to get out of home too early. Time will tell.

 A Blacktown girl, "respect" as the Blacktown boys would say when meeting with another group that had a "rep" A tough crowd up that way, drove a bus on the school run and as a relief driver on occasions, the "boys" acted as unofficial police when on the bus for both the school and the passenger runs, always polite and demanded that from everyone when they interacted with the driver .... I never had to throw anyone off a bus on that route .... but few were "escorted off" at a stop rarely used, never questioned it, not my business, not part of my job description ;)

Dot and G'man xxxx

Terry, you wouldn't have that friendly experience on the local buses now. A friend had been a school bus drive in the Blacktown area until a few years ago. He just could not handle the foul language and total disrespect.....gone are the good times I am afraid to say. We moved to Blacktown to give our kids a chance at a city edumication. I think it worked well for our daughter, but our son was not interested in learning unless it was about cars. They both turned out pretty good, considering the area of Blacktown that we lived in was all farmland when we moved in. Not too happy to revisit there anymore.

We found our caravan park easily, but the actual getting the van onto site was a huge drama. We had the choice of collecting a cabin or the colourbond fence. It was so tight, that we just kept doing the 59 point turn until the van was where it should be. Obviously a very old park with not a lot of sites left for caravans. We will be needing this park again in August. So his nibs has done a full reccy of the place and when I book, if the sites that he has marked on the park map are not available, we will have to hunt further afield. I don't think he would consider returning to this site again.

As expected, it's flaming freezing here. The little oil filled heater is running at full pelt and not doing a great deal. This is the only form of heating that works in the van for us, no fumes and no blowing dust around. Usually no problems, but this is extreme weather.

I'm back and still no Dot. Fingers and toes are crossed for you mates. xxxx

We had a lovely sleep in until 10am today. Seeing as we will be on deck much earlier tomorrow and Sunday.

We did a quick trip to aldi and had lunch back at the van. No real problems. Then we set off to get the stall set up.

This is the first time that these ladies have asked us to bring our own tables. PITA. The contract did not specify how long said tables were to be, so I found another organiser who states his table are 1.8metres long. Obviously I worked to that size....wrong again. This mob insist that ALL market stall tables are 1.4 metre long. Later another lady arrived with her oversized tables, but they couldn't chop her tables down. I had to remove one of mine. Might be a sign not to continue with this mob.
Tables all set out and finished doing the display thing and now it's starting to rain. Not a really good omen methinks.

Night all xxx
