Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Back home again. Up at 4am yesterday to make sure we were at the hospital and checked in before the required 7:30am, made it with 15 mins to spare ..... an hr later, called up and off the the bed, get the gear off and into flash the butt dress with the fancy tie ups at the back, mastered that so the brain function was still within acceptable limits .... then the stick pads on to do the beeping machine, 600 questions and then a dementia test, seriously, I just tied up my gown from behind and you need to see if my brain still functions? I must have passed that one as well, so I got to read some book, have asleep, read some more ... listen to everyone else get their dementia tests and some I reckon might have failed basic schooling or something, the months of the yr backwards isn't that hard ... well if you know what order they go in receipted the normal way ..... then watched everyone get wheeled out until there were two of us left in the ward .... 2pm they finally came and did the surgeon's talk and the gas lady came for her talk, then they wheeled me off to the theatre .... and it seemed I was the star because I was centre stage  ..... woke up about 3pm, off to the lounge chair by 3:30, had acouple of paracetamol and an oxy-codeine .... aren't they the good gear on an empty stomach .... wow 8-) Margaret collected me at around 5pm and floated me on a string to the hotel room across the road  Nothing much happening there so off for a walk to find dinner .... An Indian curry might not have been the best choice come to think of it, but it was good :D Back to the room and read my book for hrs
Off for a walk this morning to find breakfast and ran into a gaggle of news reporters and camera people, seems there was an armed hold up at a pokie bar across the street at 5:30 this morning, saw-off shotgun and all, so we got to do a "people on the street interview" might be on the local Adelaide news tonight, I think all the local channels were represented, they mightn't have been too pleased with my change of pity from the staff and patrons of a pokie bar being held up at 5:30 in the morning and more for the poor buggers who get held up at a servo who are just selling petrol and stuff in the shop .... or that we were originally from Wollongong so that sort of thing happening wasn't a great surprise and that's the sort of thing that happens in major cities .....
Then onto my next dietary error, a big Maccas breakfast, complete with the oil soaked hash brown on the burger and a second one just to make sure you got the required weekly intake of oil in one meal ..... certainly piad the price for that error all the way home

So, apart from that, not a lot happening ;)

Good morning everyone. Looks like all the action was in Adelaide yesty. Anyone got a link to our latest celebrity TV stars? I started a new project yesterday. Making a door for a watertank. Long story, maybe photos next week.
Spent most of yesty waiting for news of my latest grand child. Finally hatched about 7 pm. Probably won't be able to get into Vic for a while to meet him.
Safe travels everybody, have a great day. Happy shopping Bernie.
Cheers

David,
Congrats on your Grandfather status!

Just a word of explanation: water tanks are designed to be waterproof. If you put a door into one, it loses its waterproofness, unless you add really good door seals. (And plug the keyhole!)
:? :P
Regards & God bless,

Thanks Ray. I reckon that watertank is already full of holes. Our friend wants me to make it a sort of shed. I reckon it will finish up being the second wing of her present abode, which is a Toyota Campervan

Good afternoon,
Congratulations Terrie & David, boys are best  I have 5 g'sons & 1 only g'daughter :D Best Wishes to the little fellow & family.
We lived on Homebush Bay when I was growing up, we had a vacant block next door, down at the bottom where we backed onto what we called the swamp ( the bay) Dad had a large water tank on its side, he had built a stove out of an old drum piped up thru the top of the tank, at what was the bottom of the tank, the other end was totally open, under his supervision we use to have great cook ups, potato chips were great, brings back happy memories, we had so much fun in that old tank.

Thanks Shirley. I have 4 boys and only 1 girl so far. Terrie has 3 boys and 3 girls, but only 2 boys live in Qld. All the rest are in Vic. If we are lucky we might be able to visit them by Christmas next year. Can't wait 'til we can move around without too much risk.
Cheers
