Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Takes me a few nights to get used to a strange bed, so my results would take at least a week to discover the real pattern. Is your bag all packed yet? Or have you got so many things still up and running, that you can't even think of it? xxxx

Yesterday I researched car rentals in Adelaide. We discussed it last night and this morning I went to accept the prices and every hire is now $50 more for the same car over the ten days of hire, with the same company. Do not know what happened there. I tried to ring Avis and ask for any discounts that I could ie NRMA or seniors. Call centre people were useless. They quoted prices that were at least double to what I could get online, so no discount would happen there either. I booked it online, to hold the price, paid a deposit and the rest will be paid on collection. Then the paperwork arrived. It has me a the nominated driver, not him. That took another couple of hours to sort out. By that time, it was siesta time. Enough crap for one day

Friends of ours went to Rent a Wreck and got a good late model car with a few dents and scratches, but otherwise, a solid reliable vehicle. The price was fractional in comparison, then add the excess and insurance and excess waivers ..... a much cheaper option if transport is your main concern

Public transport is mostly free if you are an oldie.
Well last night I fronted up and a group of us were taken to our rooms and all the usual orientation was given. Next your nurse came and told you to get into your night ware then you get kitted out with heaps of blue gunk and electrodes / wires attached all over your body, then all is tested and then you are left to sleep, watch tv, read a book or what ever. Sleep came slowly for me as I had the chinese water test, the sink tap had a stuffed washer and it was drip, drip, drip, so I called for my carer and a towel was placed in the sink Arhhhhh peace. 6am the light was on and in came the nurse pulling all the tapes and wires off and breakfast then came. Got that down washed my hair to get the goopy stuff out of my hair then headed home . Got home just on 8.30am and a cuppa was ordered, and a shower was had. Did some gardening, had an AJ treatment and asked the tree chopping and mulch men if they would drop their load in the yard FREE. Tea FnChups was had for tea and now I am having an early night cuz I am tired so Goodnight everyone :D x Goodnight Tanks x :D Hope you are feeling better.

Not to worry Deborah I buy nothing from nobody if I am doing ok without it. I am having heaps of different tests to try to find out what exactly is going on with my body, all the tests results will go to the geriatrician to figure out, next is the colonic transfer study. I want to know why all these weird things are happening, some seem to be on a cycle. Could be a simple thing like the coating of a tablet. Today was another nothing day, late in arising, turned the sprinklers on, had tea and pudding of banana and yoghurt Ordered 10 bales of hay for mulch so that will be a job over the weekend. Not long till take off now and heaps to do as usual. Come on Shirley, back to practice for the queen of the bowls. :D Nothing on tv worth watching apart from BOB's :D Might kick the bus into action and find a nice spot along one of the stages and camp out. HTFFBO will be heading south soon so will catch up again soon  Time to hit the sack so Goodnight everyone x :D and Goodnight Annette and Darryl x :D

Greens are closed Dot, no practice or bowls until this hazardous weather stops, hopefully we might get to play next Tuesday, we had big waves in the lake today, still extremely windy tonight, no roll up tomorrow happening.

Goodnight members sleep tight, good night Dot 💤💤💤

Dot, Been thinking of you too. Get those tests all sorted in time to head off to the land of the long white cloud. xxxx

Terry, thanks for the suggestion, but too late. We already have made a booking and are happy to stay with a reputable firm. Sometimes it's just a matter of you get what you pay for.

I don't know how Shirley has managed to sneak on in here each day. We have been slammed with such poor internet connections that the stress is not worth the effort.
We didn't suffer much damage in the huge gusts of wind, but we have a few grevillia trees that will need lopping. The tops of them have fallen brutally, so some care will be needed. The winds have been the worst that we have seen here in the 20 years of our lakeside living. They have been quite scary and non stop. The rain has also been very persistent. Each day his lordship has checked the rain gauge and come back with it saying over an inch, so we have certainly had the Summer's worth of rain. It's hard to equate that last week it was 30 degrees and rising and now it's way down below 20 and more clothes have had to come out.

Take care out there
night all xxx

missed last night as went to sleep in the chair. All we have had is heat and more heat, today was a stinker. Nothing outside for me again. The mad delivered the straw (mulch) but that will wait until cooler. Has anyone had an experience with an ice cream maker? Thought it might be easier than taking up freezer space when we head north. Tennis is not too interesting, and I don't like the women's bike racing so looking forward to the BOB's tomorrow. I think a cool bath is calling so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight NC George x :D How's your bird doing? no not your pecker!!

Unless they have improved a great deal since my lot were kids, they were nothing much more than hard work mess makers that kept the kids entertained for maybe a week at best.
Yoghurt makers to make frozen yoghurt paddle pop was a much better option. The kids next door got one and that was all the rage, so the ice cream maker went to the bottom cupboard and then to an op shop.
Better buying a chest freezer (not to make the girls stand up and nipples stand out Dottie) and put it in one of the bins so you can store buckets of ice cream when on special and other basic frozen stuff, and run it all off solar and batteries via an inverter.

Enjoy the heat while you can Dot. Wont NZ be a little bit cooler? Sorry. not a great international traveler like you, and have no real ideas. Once the ice cream has been made, doesn't it have to go in the freezer? Flamin big machines for what they do... just my humble opinion xxxx

Today was a bit better than the rest of the week. At least for a while and then, this afternoon, the rain just bucketed down. He said that we have had over 2 inches last night and yesterday. Don't think it will so big tonight, but still it won't be a drought here this summer! We have a garden man coming tomorrow to talk about doing some of the tree cutting for us. Don't think that we have the energy right now, but the damaged trees do need some help asap.

I have spent the day doing some research on the Chihuly exhibitions at Adelaide botanic gardens. Some of the events have to be booked and paid for, so that was the job for today. The calendar has been updated with each booking and suddenly, it feels that this may actually be happening. Hooray.

Stay dry
nighty night xxx
