Sorry folks, It's been a while, I have been awol.

Our weekend started last Wednesday when we drove the caravan up to Belmont ( a very short drive) to have a weekend with our jayco mates.. The wind was relentless, but we had plenty of fun and laughter. On Friday, the eye doc receptionist rang to give me instructions about the use of eye drops for the cataract surgery on Monday...hang on, my diary said it's Wednesday. Oh well, change of plans again. Instead of driving the caravan home on Monday, we went to the pub on Sunday for lunch with our mates, then packed up the van and drove home.

Monday was cataract day. All was ok, except the hospital had a backlog of sterilization happening, so my op was put back with me sitting in the waiting room for an extra 2 hours, so a five hour wait all up. Op went well, after doc checked it all out today, he is happy with the progress and will have the other one done in a month. That date is to suit my travelling around, not to suit him. I can report that the print on this machine is so much darker and clearer, that I am already happy with the progress. Almost looking forward to having the other one done now. The bruising on my eye is pretty spectacular, but this too will pass.

The packing to go away for a few weeks is about to start to get serious tomorrow.

Keith you are so right. I slowly had one eye only deteriorate for quite a while, so I noticed how "sludgy" colours were becoming. The eye doc was impressed when I told him at my first appointment that the world was becoming too grey for my liking. I am seeing a few more shades of brightness now, so it's worth doing...I really had no choice. It was needed once no more adjustments could be made to my glasses.

Robert not Bob, once you are back and up to doing things, this one is definitely worth the fuss. It really is more of an inconvenience than a serious, scary op.

I had a lot of shed work to catch up on, but that was after a good sleep in until 11am. I had to catch upon the last few days sleep.
The afternoon was spent sorting out a heap of tiny bits of glass that I have been buying. It's for decorations mainly. Tiny flowers and smiley faces and all sorts of weird shapes. They needed to be put into a better sorting system than I had. I have been collecting various small containers and today, I got a start on the task. Might take me a while to get it done though. It's huge job, getting them all into colour and shape categories.

Looks like our Dotty is off in the wild green yonder, doing whatever....xxxx

Good evening everyone, we made it home early this arvo.
Twas a big drive through all sorts of pretty ordinary weather.
We had hot, cloudy , overcast, drizzle and heavy rain.
The drizzle started out near Goulburn and continued with varying degrees of downpour. We pulled up near Taree overnight and just after we set off again, the rain started again. I dunno why all the NSW residents hang it on Melbourne for crap weather.
Anyway, when we arrived home it was obvious that someone had taken a fair bit of time to pack up all or outdoor stuff which included a lot of hanging pots and stuff.
Im not yet sure who that was, but I'm glad they did. We didn't get much damage, just a few wet spots on the ceiling, which I'll deal with in the next few days.
The neighbours had their ceiling collapse after a bit of a water leak. The house is now unlivable as it is full of black mould.
Today we started to notice a lot of flooding in the paddocks from Kempsey, and the further north we went, the worse it got. A lot of trees had been blown over or snapped in half. Cleanup crews were everywhere.

I'm back and not many of you have been saying goodnight, your mums would be a bit angry at you Computer has been spitting the dummy, had him to the Dr again today, he had to recover gmail and Fb among other things. Had a great time with my friends in NZ, only choked on the plane x 1 and twice with some friends. Just to say NZ is fornicated and no more thoughts of moving back will enter my mind again. For a start toooo much immigration and too expensive. Fuel $3cpl and eggs, $1 pr egg that would shatter your sundays breakfasts boys. Stayed with our old Ram and Ewe still having fun and living every day as it comes. Photos later.. Had a ph call from the geriatrician's rooms yesterday for an appointment tomorrow. Good to be home and Brian was happy to see us and slept with us as we had never been away. Sorry to hear about all the sickies here but sure all will be ok in no time. Our Brian sitter did a great job not only with Brian but she had cleaned the house better than I could and even left a quiche in the fridge for when we got home. G's leg is not 100 % yet but better than before. On the other hand I had wheelchair service from the airline both ways and that is the way to go. OK that's about it for now, good to be home.
