Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Don't think triple road trains go over Cunningham's.

Good morning everyone.
Dot, it isn't any worse than the old Adelaide hill used to be.
A new noise woke me up overnight. I thought it was a different type of frog, but it turned out to be the spouting to the water tank. We have had a steady series of showers overnight. In the past month have had over 300mm of rain, probably a lot more but will never know.
It's good to sleep in your own bed isn't it.
Have a great day everybody, safe travels.
Cheers
David

Good morning everyone.
Light rain falling at the moment. I now have the "new" canopy on the ute..took it for a drive , was still all there when I got back...musta done something right :D :)
I was wondering if some one with knowledge tell me does a ute with no canopy use more fuel than one with. :? :? That was my brains Tus (hehe) question for the morning.
Not much else going on for now.
Bernie.
Morning Bob- Dave.

An empty ute is less aerodynamic than one with a tonneau or canopy, box trailers are the same. I helped a mate move out west from Sydney years ago and on the return trip the second time we took the ute sides off and dropped the front and rear sides on the box trailer and it made a huge difference to fuel economy.
Apart from the weight on the load going west the ute used about a third more fuel on the first return trip empty and on the second trip with tray sides and trailer front and back laid flat it used a third less.
A ute tub body will use less if the tailgate is laid flat, in the US they sell mesh "tailgates" to lower fuel use.

How about a side on photo Bernie? Some years ago panel vans & station wagons came out with wind deflectors either acros the rear top or I think Valiant tried down each side rear.
They helped stop the dirt & dust from building up on the rear. Without it it creates a vacuum on the rear tending to 'pull the vehicle backwards'.
Our family had a 58 holden station wagon which was about 25hp from memory. Bit different today, huh?

That's why utes need a couple of bags of cement in them. .... so they're not empty.

Looks good Bernie! Couple of pictures of Brahmas on it & you'll be good for PP rego!!
Bit hard to stand the 44's of petrol up when heading across the big paddock!!
This hatchback I have it didn't take me long to throw that 'parcel shelf' out of the boot. Scun my knuckles that many times lifting shopping bags in that it just had to go. Bit noisier now though. (road noise from tyres)
