Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Another nothing day after an out all day yesterday, yep awoke at 2pm. Liked peoples thoughts on the over 55ers villages. Why are we even entertaining this idea? This place of ours is too big for us to manage. We knew of a guy that his wife had to go into a nursing home (dementia) he had to take his super out to pay for that, he didn't have enough $ so he was put on a payment plan from his pension leaving him on the bones of his bum. Then he found himself needing full time care so he had to sell his little cottage to catch up with his wifes fees plus his own all had gone of the kids inheritance. That is not what I want if this happened to one of us. Any suggestions. Anyway last night G and I got stuck into the pros and cons of the village idea and so far we are leaning towards the nup side. Deborah it will be Xmas soon so you had better get back into those Xmas trees time waits for no woman, Nice weather coming slowly so Shirley will be getting back to the greens practicing for her champion status. By Xmas will Deborah have done her platters done? will Shirley be our champion ? will Prof1's motor home be totally finished and on the road? So many things to answer. Poor Brian is asking for more food and G is not taking the hint so I give Brian a bit extra before we go to bed Ssssshhhhhhhh ;) Hope everyone is keeping well for your ages  Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Tanks x :D

You are right about it being a difficult question Dot. I tend to just ignore it and hope that it goes away! I do see your dilemma tho, but have no real sensible answers for you. You just have to work out what is best for the two of you and nobody else is qualified to sort out your dreams and wishes. xxxx

Jon and Ray, my kilns are kept in a room at the waterfront end of the garage. I call it my shed and his nibs calls it my studio. Nothing fancy, just a room with a view and a lot of equipment that is out of bounds for his nibs. He forgets where he gets things from and often I have to hunt in his garage for them. Now he isn't allowed to touch anything without permission.

I am happy with the 2 newer cheese plates and am happily noticing that pile of empty bottles is starting to look like a manageable stack now. Today I found a very wide, rectangular brown whisky bottle, that looks a bit different to any others that I have fired. So it's getting a warm up tonight. Tomorrow I will know if it's a keeper or a binnit.

I went hunting in the business boxes for Christmas stuff, to decide what would be best to make more of. Well there are two boxes and way too much already made. I think the ones already made can be sold off at a discount and I may start making green stuff again next year. Only have a few more events this year, so not worth firing up the kiln for them. I may find some more interesting stuff to me working on instead (once the bottles are all done that is).

nighty night xxx

Oh, I though the "The WHitehouse" was appropriate.

That's where everyone gets fired.

"tanks" here---Dot & George;
Do you have any friends or acquaintances living in a village-type atmosphere who you can ask if they have any pros or cons towards this mode of accommodation (existence)?
Petels, SwissLulu, and a few others come to mind,
I had a choice between a nursing home, an Aged Persons unit, and living in Wyalkatchem.

The aged persons unit was so small, you had to get out of the room just to change your mind !!
I can't even visualise you, George, the cat, and the birds living in a unit.
Keith
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Somehow, I have posted the same item twice.
This was not a mistake------ there is a LEFT EYE version, and a RIGHT EYE post.

Perhaps a houseboat, if one of you carks it, tied out the back to collect crabs and fish to supplement the other partner's diet and still collect their pension claiming them as a care provider, cause they cared enough to collect added food for a while ..... when the finally break away and float off down stream .... you can say they must have wandered off and fell in ;)

Perhaps a houseboat out in the ocean, better seafood out there and less likely to attract too much attention 8-)

Dot, I am also thinking of the prices of solicitors and land taxes. Maybe put that amount in a separate account and use it to pay for gardening and cleaning to done by someone else. Then you can still be in an area where you have friends, your amazing garden, and birds and where Brian is happy. That's my feeling here too. I don't want to leave the area, but don't want to do the house work any more either. xxxx

Jon, I love the way you think. But I aint getting fired anytime soon, just the glass.

The local fireys had a big burn off across the lake this afternoon. It cost me an afternoon, allergies crept in and drugs were needed. Hate this time of year for my head.

In the shed. The big brown monster bottle turned a lovely rich black and it was so flat that it looked sad. I put some kiln posts along the edges of the bottles, so that as they flatten down they just touch the posts and form a nice tidy ridge along the edges. This makes it a nice cheese platter that keeps the cheese on the plate. The big black number? No such luck. As it flattened down, it had so much power that it just pushed the posts out of it's way. It's now back in having a warm up over the top of the posts, so that the body of it should drop down and form the edges. If it works, great, if not binnit. Under the neck of the bottles, I still use some square chalk, to give the plate a handle and easier way of picking it up off a table.
Photos will happen eventually.

You will not believe the time I managed to fall out of bed today, even shocked myself after the last couple of days efforts. It was 6.pm and even Brian was still curled up next to me. Will be ok tomorrow I hope.
Jon, that was a good White house joke, did you swallow your razor blade?
Re the village life we need to do more investigations and will seek advice from our friend (accountant) as to not let any $$ go to the government coffers . All we have is going to the animals of varied places, not the RSPCA either. They are not what they should be. Yes we have quite a few friends in these village places but not too many down this way and this is the area we know and have all out medico's etc in this area. There is Jo and Derek, Petals, Swisslulu, are in villages and they all seem very happy and contented with their lot. Oh the decisions. Off to shower now then back to bed so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Darryl x :D P.S. Deborah, I see what you are saying but the main thing is when/if we have to go into care and the house has to be sold to let that happen. After seeing how our friend was treated. Maybe sell off to my niece cheap and we could rent from her then she could sell up and give the proceeds to the animal places??? I trust her and my sister completely, Have fun in the nice warm room with a view and thanks for ideas.xx
