Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Shirley, is your insomnia problem getting to sleep or staying asleep? How many hours sleep do you get on average a night?
Doctor prescribed me some little blue pills (not those type Dottie) that were supposed to suppress the nerve pain/itching as a long term affect caused by the shingles. Take one at night .... I only lasted a few night with them, I reckon they still had some sleep left over each morning I might try one again tonight, just take it a lot earlier and see if I can sleep all night for a change and not end up with the bottom sheet bunched up in the middle of the bed.
If I remember I'll get the name of them for you and post it on Monday .....

Lie in bed on your back ready to go to sleep.
Arms by your side.
Using your mind, just concentrate on your toes and draw the energy from them up into your feet. Some do it by sucking air in like a straw as they think about the energy moving from their toes. The toes should change in feeling after a few slow deep breathes.
As they do, in your mind, hold them in that state and move to your feet. Same again, but keeping the toes relaxed.
Then your calves, and then thighs, pelvis. Things will feel a bit heavier as they relax.. Same for your stomach muscles and then include your hands as the line moves upwards.
Back muscles, chest and arms. WIth practice, you'll feel yourself sink heavier into the mattress, Work right up to your head. As you draw the energy up with your mind, start to "push" it out through your minds "eye". Then just go to sleep. You'll know your close when the sinking into the mattress feeling happens.
If you feel the energy slip back a little, go back to where it is and draw it back up.
I have used a similar technique since I had my nose repaired. But I try to only breath through my nose when relaxing. Another but, I can only do this if there is nothing on my mind. If I'm worried about something, no sleep for me.
Cheers

George, Dr told me to listen to soft relaxing music, didn't work for me. Bruce can fall asleep anytime & only snores if he's laying on his back.
Bernie, I don't sleep on my back either but will try & do as Jon has suggested.
Dr gave me script for Melatonin suppose to help you retime you sleep pattern, I didn't sleep taking them only made me feel dazed & sleepy the next day, friend at bowls takes them & reckons that she sleeps 6-8 hours every time.
