Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Yep sure is summer and some real beauties as well. Today was my GP visit and she is pleased. Bought 4 new ceiling fans (black ones) the cost to have them put up costs more than the fan did. DAVID you lovely boy
Dropped some bits off at the closed op chop then went another km down the road and the local Cherry man was there $15kg and they are (were) beautiful and all gone. The light lady even delivered them to us when she finished work (Free Then to the big green shed, Bought another misting fan for the birds as their other one conked out, 2 Anzac Grevilleas, another effort with a Daphne and an un named $2 plant, a new fancy sprinkler and a tap timer and some grape cover bags, Looks like we may get some grapes this year. Also scored a dozen or so used plant pots for 0 . Then off to Woolies for some food stuff and Brian's roo has gone from $10 to
$14 kg. I was being a very good girl on the roads and doing the speed limits all the way when going around a round about I noticed the 3rd car behind us was a copper in an mufti car, someone was watching out for me.Weather heating up now. Hope everyone on the sick list are getting better. Goodnight everyone x Goodnight Noggins x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I made up my misting kit for the big workshop fan using spray misting nozzles from the garden section and a collection of T pieces and the real small sprinkler hose. Simply attached to the tap, works well, I'd add flow control taps if I tried a second one to avoid the out of balance water spray compared to air speed.
You can buy misting jets and high pressure pumps, originally designed for petrol engine water injection to stop detonation ..... I might even go that way and use it as assisted cooling for the condenser on the rooftop rattler, water can carry 3 times the heat energy that air can, that is why a fan blowing over sweat feels so cold ......

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Terry G tried similar but failed with the misting thing so have settled on buying the solution, this fan has all the bells and whistles, even the birds can operate it.
Yesterday (Sat) was non active for me but G managed to pick up heaps of leafs and twigs I had raked up. Brian went outside for his business and notified G to the ginger cat sitting under the bus.
The sprayed weeds are drooping nicely so that new spray has worked. I wonder how Deborah is doing in sales this weekend? Going to plant those 2 Anzac shrubs tomorrow they should look great for Anzac or Aust day, they have big red flowers for the blood symbol. Got more grape bags hoping that will save them from the birds. Going to do a couple of loads of washing then I might hit the sack So goodnight everyone x
Goodnight jd and Phoenix x
Have a safe trip home.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Thanks for the thought Dot. Our weekend was good-ish xxxx
We ended up making a small profit for the weekend but it has been a frought one. The leagues club have decided to block off their outdoor, easy parking and force all customers into the multistory carpark. That works for smaller cars, almost, but if we had the 4x4 it would have been a disaster. As it was, it meant that unloading on Friday and loading it back up today, was a lot of hiking through a carpark with multiple trolley loads. up and down elevators and just generally a long, unpleasant hike. I am disappointed that the club has made it so hard for us to actually get our stuff in and out of the joint. Happy to take our money, but not at all thoughtful towards us.
As we were indoors all weekend in a freezing airconditioned room, we didn't notice the weather until we left each night. Tonight there was a lovely lightning show and not much else, except for a few tiny droplets of rain.
Going to be a busy week, making appointments and getting a few things sorted out.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I suppose a small profit is better than a loss but all that work and travel then the silly parking set up I would be disappointed as well. How did the new van perform and could you find everything that you packed? G is doing a little more each day but tires out easily so has plenty of breaks. Today we put the little bags over the grape bunches, planted one of the Anzac grevilas as I didn't have enough of the good garden soil stuff to do the 2nd one, that can wait till tomorrow. Also potted my new white Daphne so hope it manages to survive, no others have
Must head off to the shower as my feet are filthy from the days work. Stay safe everyone if out and about. Goodnight one and all x
Goodnight Bobr x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
A warmish day but tomorrow is going to be hotter but not much relief till next weekend, Lawn and plants all got a good soaking this arvo, G planted the other plant for me and gave it a good drink of weak seasol. so luck better be my friend. Picked some yellow marrow looking things plus 2 huge green ones so they will go to the senior citz freebie box cus I have no idea about them, they were given to me from our neighbour when they were just seedlings. Guess the birds will get to test out their new misting fan this week. Our resident blue tongue was seen sunbaking today. Time for bed so goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Hi Dot, no caravan last weekend. Gosford is only about 40 minutes away from home, so we slept at home...much cheaper esp in school holidays. Do you have a lovely person teed up to water the new plants once you escape? That daphne will take all the care that you can manage...temperamental little things they are. xxxx
As today is the first real business day since Christmas, I have been very busy on the phone for much of the day.
Best and first call of the day was to safe work to report a very dangerous electrical box in a caravan park. As soon as I told the inspector that the electrician commented that the box is not up to code, I felt the inspector's ears prick up. I feel sorry for anyone who has booked into that site after us, because we now know how dangerous it it really is and once the inspector's team go through the park there may be some uncomfortable times for the management. The electrical box is just sitting two feet from the roadway with no gutters, protection or bollards at all. It has 2 screws "holding " the box into the sandy soil. Any kid could easily lift the lid and be right into the wires in a flash. There will be a team of inspectors visiting the park any day now. I hope they give better than the management at the park gave to us. I have some friends living in the old farts village, across the road from the park and they have friends who are in the residential part of the caravan park. I hope to get some updates from my spies
They management may have chosen the wrong person to cross...they are now the ones in peril.
Next was to resend the email to Hampshire holiday parks to make sure that if any management have returned from holidays, they will read the story of their management gone mad. I will continue to fill their inboxes until I get a reply.
Our son noticed that we don't have the right Anderson plug from the van fridge to the patrol. He didn't have the tools with him but our lovely van man will come and sort that out. He is also an auto sparky, so he will fit a dash camera to my rav 4, seeing as it's now getting driven a lot more locally.
He has the unenviable task of teaching us how to use the thing properly and to update the camera software in the patrol as well. He will come out next week and have us all sorted.
A couple of doctor things have now got their appointments and we will be set for next few weeks with things to get sorted... such fun getting older and giving extra champagne money to specialists
More of these getting things sorted phone calls tomorrow and we will back up and running towards whatever normal might actually be for us.
Night to all of you xxx

Good call to ring Safe Work, Deborah. I can't believe that pillar box wasn't protected by bollards. I'm pretty sure it, and any others in that park will be very soon. I hope the rest of their electrical is also up to scratch.
Cheers

In a caravan park, electrical work all up to the required standard, I think this one might belong in the joke sectionsupersparky wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 4:44 am Good call to ring Safe Work, Deborah. Even finding a power point with the correct polarity wiring is a rare event these days, one that doesn't try to melt the 15 amp plug and weld the pins to the contacts is a bit hit and miss. If we ever draw power from a caravan park pole, we try to limit it to 6 amps and rely on the solar and house battery being the major electrical supplier/
At the price they ask for powered site these days, I'll just pay the fuel penalty and drag the MG4 around with us and use that as our power supply in a free camp .....
