Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Even finding a power point with the correct polarity wiring is a rare event these days, one that doesn't try to melt the 15 amp plug and weld the pins to the contacts is a bit hit and miss. If we ever draw power from a caravan park pole, we try to limit it to 6 amps and rely on the solar and house battery being the major electrical supplier/
Wow, I wouldn't have thought so....

I do note that you've been traveling a lot over the last few years and by the sounds of it, staying in lots of van parks..... Terry, of the majority of parks you tested, which was the worst?...

How good was I today? getting up so early. Got all jobs done before it got too hot to be outside. 1pm saw the lady from AEC (aged care provider) to explain things and to get the services started so I signed on the dotted line. Their first jobs will be washing my floors and windows and putting a shower head that is on the sliding pole thing and a seat for the shower. Making it so much safer. :D This evening G was read the riot act for being an idiot, he lifted the shed door and found out what the pain was in his back. Bloody fool. Had the air con from 1pm until 9pm tonight geeze it was a nasty day and more tomorrow maybe hitting 42deg some have said so Tanks's 46deg was very real indeed. Off to shower now so keep cool and hydrated everyone. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Native Pepper and animals x :D

Dot, MrG will never learn. I had to stand beside the step ladder today when his nibs decided to climb to the top to get to the aircon. I was given the stare when I got up close and held the ladder, but I think that he suddenly felt stupid for being up so high. Do keep following your own advice. Stay as cool as possible and hydrated is essential. xxxx

It's just as hot here too. I decided to get the curtain from the van that was over the kitchen sink. It was too long and rally needed to be two curtains. It just wasn't right. Job done and I am much happier with how it looks.

Power in van parks has only been problematic in a very few of the parks that we stay in. I can remember that the water supply in Rockhampton was the worst that we have even found and that power in some places has been dodgy, but we have managed in most cases.

Many years ago, we planted and Aussie native firewheel tree on the footpath right next to where the van is parked. It has never flowered, in at least 15 years. This year, it is looking great, with the main clusters of flowers (all 3 of them) facing right at our front door. It has come very close to being exterminated, so it may have just saved itself.

Hope it continues to flower each year, now that it has remembered what it's meant to do.

Deborah, they know.

Nan has some sort of bush thing outside here front door..... Must have been 50 years ago now.

I recall her amazement when it flowered a week after saying that she'll get it cut down since it never flowered.

Are they deciduous like the Illawarra flame tree? Those have very invasive root systems, well known for destroying sewer lines, septic tanks and drainage pipes, but once established, very little hope of completely removing it. Certainly spectacular this time of yr

This is the NZ xmas tree (po -hute-a-kawa) it is all around the NZ coast line through summer They say if they flower early it will be an early summer. It is a beautiful tree muck like your tree Deborah don't cut it down. Wasn't today a bloody ripper? the birds appreciated their very own misting fan. My mate in NZ said they have had some hot days but also have rain = HUMID. Um you know that Daphne plant I bought from the green shed well I got the best potting mix and gave if a weak seasol watering in and today I found 4 leaves with big black blotches on them, I did everything the info card said so what is wrong? I was given a few zukini seedlings (had no idea what they were) until I showed the care lady and she told me so she ended up leaving with 2 monstrous green ones and 8 much smaller yellow ones plus an icecream container of lemons. Plums are starting to invade our fridge. Right now the temp is 29degs @ 0130hrs (sa) Time for bed so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Shirley x :D

Heading to 40c so out early watering, gave a quick watering after the cricket last night. Had over 40c yesterday and still 35c at 10:30pm last night.

Had the AC on yesterday for a fair while and a humidifier next to my chair. This dry weather is not good for my breathing.

Glad we had the new solar/battery installed as we are not drawing from the grid to run anything.

Take care and stay cool folks. Cheers Robert
