Re: Good morning daily
Dot, a lot of people up here are also uninsured for flood because the premiums req'd are $10-20k per year. That's why a lot of people take a bit of a punt on only the lower level going under and being able to move their stuff to higher ground beforehand. Trouble is, most of this flood came from the sky, not caused by dam overflow. Everyone is saying 'it just came up so fast' and most had no time to move stuff.
Cheers

No they are not charities, they are gamblers, they just manage risk, you don't bet when you know the odds are way way against you. If you are not stupid and carry your own insurance through life you will be generally far in front, but who has that much strength to stay that course over many years.

But couldn't they at least have a small amount to claim for say clothing or maybe a value to even $5k We pay insurance for everything, 1 bus and 2 cars, house, contents etc, block and shed /contents. even health insurance, can't take the risk of not having it, mind you the health insurance has been well worth it, we are way out in front. Suppose rain is an act of the invisible man.Busman wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 10:16 pm No they are not charities, they are gamblers, they just manage risk, you don't bet when you know the odds are way way against you. Morning everyone.
We had 4mm yesterday and there is lightning way way north of us now.
I bought myself a new Gurni yesterday. I tried it out, wont move the oil stain on the pavers but promising on the concrete will hit it again today.
Traffic in Maryborough yesterday was backed up to the roundabout Over the Bruce highway to Ferry St in town. Mainly from people who live on the southern side of the Lammy bridge going the long way to town.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Dave, my mower doesn't need servicing, I just wish the light rain would stop so that I can mow the grass.
