Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Good morning.
Only three mice yesterday, maybe the pied piper has been thru Helen :!: :!:
All the timber that I picked up is now out of the trailer and around the back. :)
The only other thing I got up to is trying to get all the thingy's in the victron controller sorted, with the help of a certain forum member :D .
Not as cold this morning as yesterday was, BUT the fire is lit...much safer if the house is warm when a certain person emerges from the bedroom :? :? :D
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Good morning everyone. The Antarctic blast that blew in yesty seems to have gone for a while. The cold has stayed though. None of the big trees in the neighbours yard fell over, which is a good thing. But most of their leaves finished up in our yard.
I spent a few hours trying to get some sense from a dodgy car rental company. Here's to hoping we get our money back.
How did you go with the solar setup Bernie?
Happy hump day everybody. Stay warm and dry. Safe travels.
Cheers

Bob,
Whaddayamean, “cold weather”?

Got up to 11* here yesterday! Double digits!!!
Luvverly Autumn day!
Thongs & shorts day.
O’course, we DID get a little damp with it… only 20mm though. Keeps the grass green. 😁

(Have you noticed how difficult it is to talk with your tongue in your cheek?) 😜
Regards & God bless,

Still trying to sort the mystery 240vac wiring on the Crusader van. What a spiderweb and the wires would be 1mm sq at best, yet it powers a roof top rattler, an oven, the hot water and multiple power points throughout the van. I found 5 cables all wired into a single power point so it appears that was used as a junction point, but more than halfway between the mains and inverter input and the rear of the van. The power box is halfway between the two points, a now blanked off external power point that the cable goes up to the power box yet blanked off at that end as well, but identifying red electrical tape marking claiming it links to cables that went to the inverter? I had a cable at the inverter junction box that appeared to connect to the appliances and a few other locations, yet when I separated the 5 cables at the junction power point, it doesn't seem to go anywhere :? Maybe it was making a circuit through an appliance, but that would mean somewhere the active and neutral are reversed ..... no, looked for a circuit on the neutrals and that didn't pan out ..... maybe I have to join all the power point junction wires together and start a trace of when the circuit is lost ... if I find one in the first place
Another cup of coffee before I make another attempt, so much for the one day swap over of the inverters
Apparently someone else had a go at rewiring as well, bypass a switch under the bed and joined a multitude of cables using BP connectors, but some barely connecting by a single wire strand and various nicks in the isolation on multiple cables .......... Who wires up these deathtraps with cable way too small to do the job and run through walls, the roof, back down the wall somewhere else yet seem to come to a dead end .....

Sorry for the rant, it sort of helped to talk it through to clear a bit of the fog out of the brain ....

The rain has given us half a tank, much appreciated, send more please :D
Needles in the eyes day yesterday, new ears trial tomorrow, two houseboat quotes today and back into this wiring nightmare and inverter install.

Finally found the answer to the wiring mystery Monday evening. One length of cable went all the way back to the hotwater/washing machine and the power point where the hairdryer was used, but for some strange reason, also linked in and out of the junction power point. The result was the three wires melted together in the outer casing resulting in a continuity reading between the active and neutral and earth, just a higher resistance on the neutral and earth wire.
Anyway, a rewire using 2.5mm sq cable will sort the problem while deleting the damaged cable from the network.

"tanks" here--- A mate in WA sent this to me.

I'm getting totally fed up with people whinging about the price of things.

$3.00 for a Tea, $5.50 for a Coffee, $4.00 for a slice of cake or 2 Tim Tams, and $10.00 a day for car parking.

Any more complaints I will honestly stop inviting my friends round to my house.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.
