Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Maybe adding an LPG tank in the interim before I get the hybrid electric set up installed and running,
How long does it take to install the hybrid electric?

(1)Battery carrier and retention must be able to withstand an 8?g force in any direction .... yet a start battery or house battery doesn't come under that legal requirement  VFD
(2) Inverter to control voltage/current/frequency to the 3 phase motor and change the battery DC to AC 3 phase and back again for regen braking
(3) Throttle control and regen braking control and inputs.
(4) Battery isolation safety circuit
(5) Battery management system linked to VFD and charging systems

Then the basic mechanicals of installing the 3 phase electric motor whether by belt drive at the front of the engine, drive through a gearbox PTO or direct drive after the gearbox and before the diff flange .... or a direct coupling to the front of the crankshaft or even between the motor and gearbox if you want to get fancy
Then of course, the fun part of programming the VFD to not snap your neck
The benefits of mounting to the engine or PTO is the electric motor also becomes a starter motor and can double as a very big genset to recharge the battery if worst came to worst ...... but it also gives you the increased torque in every gear so a higher gear can be held over a hill and for overtaking and even moving off the mark .... as long as the clutch will handle that sort of punishment ......

LPG requires a tank, a converter to change it from liquid to gas, a regulator to control the amount of gas fed to the mixer, a mixer in the air intake. Then the gas shut off valves to cut the supply from the tank when the engine stops turning or the system is turned off and some sort of pulse generator from the diesel injector pipe to tell the tachometric relay that fuel is being injected to initiate the combustion .... important because you don't want LPG being supplied when the diesel pump govenor has shut down supply dure to over speed compared to the throttle position, or over speed in general .... the engine, exhaust and muffler full of the perfect ratio of oxygen and LPG, being reignited by the injector pump returning to the process of injecting fuel and creating the combustion, would make a rather muffler shattering bang and a rather large flame from the exhaust ;)

Neither are particularly straight forward, but the LPG alternative isn't near as expensive because I have the required licences and parts .....
