Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

At Port Pierie. Josh made green Thai curry with sausages last night.

Whyalla tonight. Then the slow days start.

Thanks for the good wishes.
You loose contact with all signals when you eventuate across the Bight. Try to travel with the wind rather than against it. Saves a lot on the fuel consumption.

Good morning 16c, N/W breeze across the lake, maximum 22c predicted, warm in the sun if you're out of the breeze.

Nathan eldest g'son at school told me on Friday their school holidays start next Wednesday on account of Thursday being declared a public holiday, kid & teachers get the Friday off too.

Enjoy your travels Jon, I'm sure you'll all have a great adventure.

Broken down outside Port Augusta.

The oil lubrication feed pipe to the injector pump broke. Pumped all the oil out.

Spotted as the light flashed on. Sort of fixed with some fuel hose and limped into PA.
Waiting for a hydraulic place to open to see how to repair it.

broken pipe :-(
pipe2s.JPG
Cutting a windscreen squirter to act as a hose reducer.
pump3s.JPG
Fitted together with borrowed hose clamps from the turbo and diesel heater. Different size hoses and the like.

Dot; luckiliy I had a new hacksaw to cut the squirter. Thanks George. You're the best.

Oh no! One of the biggest problems with those old metal pipes if there's any vibration etc.
Let's hope it's a quick fix & back on track for you!

Maybe I should have warned you about parking beside the Mazda, Toppy Tofu might have picked up a few idea from the Mazda about how to get a few days rest between drives, simply dump out the oil and leave them struggling to stop it
Best of luck with the repairs tomorrow, maybe look for barb fittings that are designed for low pressure pressure work (up to 125psi) the single use christmas tree style barb hold better than the rounded barb type, but the hose must be cut to remove them. Usually found at hydraulic places rather than Bunnings etc because they are a special design suited to a particular type of reinforced hose. Hose clamps are optional with these special fittings, those pinch type clamps work well because they take up less room than a worm drive clamp .... and look neater as well 8-)
