SWMBO inherited her mother's Singer electric (weighs a ton!) which we still have - but don't use. It's still functional, and I reckon it has to be 60~70YO!
When I met her, she had a Husqvarna, which disappeared in a burglary, and was replaced with a newer model... which she never found quite as good.
Daughter purloined that one when she moved out into her own place... leaving SWMBO sans sewing machine for a few years.
Bright Boy here thought he'd surprise her & buy her a new computerised Brother (on shop lady's recommendation).
It was worse than the Husky! Not a popular lad, I was...
So late last year she shouted herself a Christmas present ("from me!") of an even newer computerised Janome... HER choice, this time.
She loves it, and is still in the 'learning to play with it' stage. Lots of help with assembling her (hand-sewn) applique work, which is the Newest Hobby.
No talk of sails or m/h annexes yet...

Regards & God bless,
Ray

Took the useless magnetic insect screens down, packed them up and sent them back to Alfab for a total refund.

Ray I have a Husqvarna that I use most, also have an older Janome & my original Empsisal, all my machines are heavy compared to the ones that you buy today, I don't sew as much these days cloths are cheap to purchase, mainly use machine for repairs, l did make new curtains for the Coaster last year.
