It was only a matter of time.
We have a positive case (maybe more) in Rutherglen.
The motel next door and the one across the road have been converted into hostels for islanders working nearby.
At least one has returned a positive test.
However, Albury-Wodonga Health will only confirm that there is one case in the Shire. They won’t name the town for “privacy reasons”!!
I was under the impression it is a “public health” issue.

We live 20m from the motel/hostel with the positive case.
If locals don’t know it’s about, we could unwittingly spread it!
Bureaucratic insanity!!

Double edged sword this thing is.
Only a few months ago everyone in region were rallying against lock down. Now, it's freed up, they're experiencing the reason why it was wanted and experiencing/understanding the consequences of their protests.

Have a look at the PNG fools. bashings of ambos, medico's, riots, all from the tin hatters. 4% only vaccinated, if they don't believe in the virus then maybe those fools should go deep into the jungle away from built up areas.

Not across the world. The wealthy nations can afford to buy vaccines and the developing can't. .... It may be the opposite and the great unleveller.

My son Guy has recovered from his bout of Covid and has been back at work since last Monday. The stay at home quarantine enabled him to catch up on the outstanding job invoices.

UPDATE ON INDIGO SHIRE & Covid in Rutherglen:
Albury-Wodonga Health has posted a ‘talking head’ video on Fb, reassuring the Shire of their concern, and the outbreak is under control. (Yup. Like every other Delta outbreak.

)
They explained that the outbreak was confined to four people at two “large scale accommodation options”.
So now we know: we don’t live next to a motel, but a “large scale accommodation option”… I’d like to see THAT on their neon sign!
They recommended that any resident who suspects they have Covid to get tested… in Wodonga, a 100km round trip!

If you’re ill with Covid, you probably are not well enough to drive 100km!

I'm having an interesting conversation with a Anti-vaccer extended family member. He is his mid 40s. Refuses to get vaccinated and bitches about Freedoms etc. However he is also of the opinion that eventually everyone will get it. He currently dismisses reports of 16 times more likely to get admitted to ICU if caught by community transmission as Govt pushed scare tactic to "force" people to get jabbed. He also dismisses reports of healthy 30 year olds and healthy gym junkies dying in a similar process and that those cases are a one off. And besides, he already has a stock of horse worming medicine and he is confident in his immune system to protect him. However, he does believe that his mate, who was jabbed many weeks ago, has now developed health problems because of the vaccine shot.
I think I have him now. Given his stated belief that everyone will get it eventually, have asked him whether he is willing to test his theories by choosing whether or not to develop antibodies through vaccine or through community transmission. No reply in several days, I guess he is thinking about it.
In local Qld news, Anna just got more support for keeping the borders closed because Fools and Dunces are still breaching the rules and bring the virus north from both Vic and from NSW.
My latest comeback to the vaccine hesitant is "Even Big Bird has had the shot. Are you smarter than a Muppet?"
