The rain was pouring down. And there standing in front of a big puddle outside the pub, was an old man, drenched, holding a stick, with a piece of string dangling in the water.
A passer-by stopped and asked, "What are you doing?"
"Fishing" replied the old man.
Feeling sorry for the old man, the gent says, "Come in out of the rain and have a drink with me."
In the warmth of the pub, as they sip their whiskies, the gentleman cannot resist asking,
"So how many have you caught today?"
"You're the eighth one today " says the old man
Good morning daily

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. We have had a few light showers overnight, might get a few more today if we're lucky.
I like your fishing story Tanks. How's Carol back going Bernie? Nothing new to report today.
Have a great day everybody, safe travels.

Good morning.
Just a slow day yesty, I did get the mowing done, plus it wasn't as hot as it's been.
One of the couples that came and looked at the "winny" were from down your way Shirley Lack Macquarie, they moved to Hervey Bay 5 years back .
We are off to the big smoke today so Carol can have this dry needling stuff.
Hopefully the drive does't make her go back instead of forward.
And Wednesday there are people coming from the Sunshine coast to have a look at the motorhome. They seem keen
Good joke Keith.
Keep safe.
Bernie.
It rained in Biggenden yesterday but not here...morning Dave.

Re: Good morning daily
Morning folks heading to high 30c today, another AC day. May need a bank loan to pay for power next month.
Saw my pain specialist yesterday and have a referal for another lot of needles when due in April, if I feel they are needed just call back and they will arrange the procedure.
Nothing else planned so take it easy folks, Helen what is it like in your area for the heat at the moment. Cheers Robert

Re: Good morning daily
I have been in and out of hospital several times over the past few months with stage 3 Emphysema (lung infections) and the further degeneration of my disc problems within the range from C3-C5, T7, L4 to S3. In other words I am a bloody old wreck. After the last stay in hospital I was looking ahead and investigaing what avenues are available for nursing home residence. I realise that I am not going to get better—in fact I can only become progressively worse to a stage that I will not be able to live alone and I will require care and social company which is not available to me in Queensland! I am estranged from my immediate family in Queensland since I changed my will and didn't mention them in the new will.
The only social activity I have living on my own is the Monday to Friday hourly visits from my housekeeper
I live on my own and I am some distance from my attending (joke) T.V.Specialist and the Mackay Base Hospital. My G.P. does a good job and knows a bit about the lung conditions as he is registered by the Mines Board for Miners' Black Lung inspection/examination. The local 28 bed hospital do what they can to make me feel comfortable when I am having a relapse or infection and associated breathing difficulties.
The GP has made me aware that I have limited time to arrange alternative care and accommodation while I am still able to travel. With this in mind I have considered returning to Perth where I will at least be close to my Foster Son and his family. Jeff and Pam have plans and are visiting me in May this year for my 85th birthday as part of their annual holiday.
Now that I have told Jeff and Pam that I am going to return to WA they want me to live with them in their new home in Balga. I will have my own bedroom and toilet and free run of the house. When it is necessary to move into a nursing home there are several of good standing –(aegis aged care group) within close distance to Balga.
Having made the decission to relocate to Perth, I am now booked on the same Qantas flight from Mackay to Perth as Pam and Jeff so this means that they can assist me enroute if I have any difficulty with luggage etc.
That is enough from me for now.
Keith.

Re: Good morning daily
Wow Keith,
I hope everything works out for the best.
Mum and Dad recently moved into assisted care. (this mob - www.allity.com.au) It was the best thing they could have done. Getting proper meals, nursing and kitchen staff are excellent. Lots of activities and the like. Dad has chronic kidney problems and the staff are excellent with the pain management.
They ask for suggestions on the activities, one resident said lets go to the Windsor. So, the aged care tried to organize it but couldn't arrange it, and they went somewhere almost equally as posh for lunch.

Re: Good morning daily
The cat requested the air con to be left on again today. He was very polite about it, sat in my chair, looked up at the air con unit and let out a pleading type mew, when I turned it on, he came over to me, still on my seat and purred .... can't make it much more obvious than that eh

Morning all, we all wish you well for the future in Perth Tanks, it sure is a bastard this getting old stuff. Terry why don't you set your air con to turn on at a set time? The misting fan we use for the birds only has a timer for 4 hrs but it makes a difference. Bruce how is your leg? Keep cool everyone
