New South Wales and Victoria reimpose quarantine requirements for international arrivals as South Australia and Western Australia tighten their border rules.

From 5 pm on 27 November 2021:
Changes have been made to the Emergency Management Arrivals Associated Direction.
Those changes include:
International Travellers and High Risk Arrivals
With the emergence of the Omicron Variant all internationals travellers and people arriving from High Risk locations from within Australia arriving in South Australia or International travellers transiting through another port directly to South Australia must now undertake 14 days quarantine.
Testing Requirements:
Travellers entering South Australia from Low Risk or Moderate Risk LGAs will need to show evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours before arrival.
The provision permitting people to have a COVID-19 test when they arrive in South Australia and quarantine until they receive a negative test result has been removed.
Cross Border Community (NSW)
For Cross Border Community members who travel beyond the Cross Border Corridor into South Australia with a person or people less than 12 years and 2 months, all travelers are required to:
· COVID-19 test taken in 72 hours prior to arrival in SA with a negative result
· COVID-19 test upon arrival in SA quarantine until test taken.

There is a real quandary in the making, yet to see how it pans out. It seems this new Omicron variant will block the Delta variant getting a hold on the victim/host/poor bugga that catches this new strain. It seems this new strain, as yet, has far less effect on the immune system so the over reaction doesn't seem to be part of the symptoms. So far the symptoms appear to be severe fatigue, body aches and pains and a serious headache ........ seems I've had this for at least 10 yrs .......... At the moment, none of these cases has needed to be hospitalised but treated at home .... it will be interesting to see where it goes from here .....

This virus thing has become bizarre and I no longer know what to think. My lady is still stuck in Sweden, the side effects I got from the first AZ jab have yet to totally disappear. Headaches, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, no energy no taste of smell and after almost 3 months I still puff and lost 15KGS.

I'm hoping this new mutation is less effective, maybe more infective but not as strong and doesn't kill. But fully vaccinate people are being hospitalised, so wondering what my second jab will bring me.

Your 2nd jab will bring you a lesser chance of getting the virus so severely and will give your immune system a good boost. Now you know how I feel with no taste, no energy, no appetite, out of breathe for the slightest exertion, but the headache you mention I have occasionally. Those "side effects" for you are more than likely temp and aren't life threatening. Why can't your "Lady" get back from Sweden when they are letting all and sundry in? When you say fully jabbed people are being hospitalised, what for? the ICU 's are not
even part way full with the virus cases. As you say the virus thing is bizarre! the whole world is dam well double bizarre.

Some observations from Son-&-Heir (Critical Care Nurse Lecturer, currently recalled to ward duty in an ‘all hands on deck’ call from his hospital):
1. 95~98% of ICU patients are unvaccinated.
2. The vast majority of ICU patients have been there for many weeks running into months.
3. The rate of admission to ICU wards state-wide is slowly declining, concurrent with the rising percentage of Victorians fully vaccinated. The two facts are probably related.
4. Judging by past Covid experience, most long-term ICU patients will not leave hospital alive, despite the best efforts of medical & nursing staff. The longer the stay in ICU, the lower the chance of recovery.
5. It’s too early to judge if the Omicron variant is a more transmissible but less virulent variant, however, the early signs are that this may be correct. This would be a hopeful trend if future variants do likewise.

For some reason Sweden and other european countries are on the no no list at present and she is not an Aus citizen, was going to take out citizenship when she came back. As for saying hospitals are getting full of jabbed people, was referring to Europe, not Aus. My lady still works in the hospital and says the majority of cases now are fully vaccinated as Sweden has a high rate of vaccinations and most have been vaccinated for many months and immunity is dropping. She has had her 3rd booster being a health worker, but her exemptions keep getting knocked back. She was about to come home via singapore, but that's now been stopped so who knows when it will happen.

I can't seem to find anything much about long term side effects caused by the vaccine, have you been tested to make sure you don't actually have Covid 19?
A quick read through this should help to explain why the vaccine can't give you the disease and the fact a second does and follow up booster shots indicates the one of the types of listed in B or C, A is one shot for life and D is a form of bacterial vaccines and Covid is a Viral type disease.

A) live attenuated vaccines, which contain a living, but weakened, form of the germ (organism);
B) inactivated vaccines, which contain a killed form of the organism;
C) subunit vaccines, which contain just the part of the organism that stimulates an immune response (the antigen); and
D) toxoid vaccines, which contain an inactivated bacterial toxin (toxoid).

Your long term symptoms point to you actually having Covid 19 .......
