One of the best posts I have ever seen on this forum, and usually my views and those of NP are poles apartnative pepper wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 4:42 pm I see nothing in posts which are racist, just opinions and remember I have actual indigenous heritage and live the modern version of culture in my way of life. There's only one constant law in the universe, that's change and change means evolution, the outcome that change and evolution results in is determined by factors of controlled chaotic change. Which is something we have no idea of understanding, we either evolve through change or we get relegated to the past, as many species on our planet have. It would be the same throughout the universe and we either live with, develop and evolve with those changes, or we fail to adhere to universal law and end up as the past with no future.
Surely we are adult enough to have discussions revolving around contentious issues, I have my views on colonisation and abhor many aspects of what occurred. But I'm logical enough to accept and work with the current situation and results of past events to ensure I evolve past them.
We have to accept the majority of those originally brought to this country didn't come here by their own volition, they were transported forcibly and it was only a certain section of those who came here who carried out the atrocities upon the inhabitants and the vast majority weren't convicts. I have convict heritage going back to the first fleet, I know for a fact many of my European ancestors integrated with the native people. Then we have to accept almost 100% of those with indigenous heritage wouldn't be here if the British and other hadn't come here, we are all of mixed blood as is just about everyone on the planet. I haven't come across any cultural people who don't have a bit of ancestry from outside the country, did an ancestry DNA test and was surprised at the variety of my ancestry.
When discussing this subject with my people, always point out that this country has been colonised once, just about every other country has been invaded and colonised and invaded many times and that continues to day. All of these events including the colonisation of Aus and the atrocities committed, revolve around ideologies and nothing else. So in many ways we are lucky to not have been invaded and taken over by many cultures, just the one and that's given us a modern culture the envy of the world, but still with problems. There's nowhere else on this planet you can travel over 10000klms with reasonable safety or being confronted by different governance, cultures and ideologies, so we are far more advanced than most other places.
In reality this country has benefited by colonisation by continuing to be a stable united country, of course we would all like to return to the pristine environment that existed hundreds of years ago, but it was not all blissful and peaceful. For some reason many humans of all descriptions and races seem to have a bizarre belief that the fantasy land they mentally live in is real and everyone else should adhere to their fantasies. They are so locked into their delusional world, they want to force everyone else to adhere to their insanity and that always revolves round clinging to the past.
Racism is the inability to accept others for what they are and work with that reality, sadly ideologies live in some fantasy land mentality and can't stand not having their views accepted as reality, so are racist by definition and they become abusive and in the end violent. That's what happened when the British came here, the elites of their ruling ideology couldn't stand the life style, approach or culture of those here, so they tried to destroy it. If it wasn't for those who supported, integrated and bred with indigenous, the vast majority being ordinary settlers and convicts not addicted to the ruling ideology, there'd be no indigenous blood in the country.
But if you look at the current state of the planet, nature and humanities approach, it's fantasy that rules and not the reality. Otherwise we wouldn't have global warming, climate change, wars and we would have taken the best aspects of past indigenous culture and used it to develop a decent modern stable and sustainable culture.
That goes for those with indigenous heritage, we can't turn the clock back, we can't revert to the past and can only go forward as one people, or we get relegated to the past and become irrelevant to the future. It's interesting to note, those demanding the return of country into indigenous hands, 90% are urban based, live their entire lives in a western lifestyle and many are academics. Those living on their country aren't involved, they just want a better life standard, something to look forward to and peace in their lives.
They can't get that by alienating the majority of Australians, which is what the wanna be are trying to do and if we look around us, we will see there are a number of minorities demanding their agendas be accepted and over rule everyone else. All that will result from that is disaster, disaster is what we are seeing spreading round the planet and those creating the disasters all want to return to the past and or put their ideological fantasies in charge.

Re: Good morning daily
Dogs are fine Dot, happy and enjoying their lives. Bindi has developed a search and find method, throw her the stick and she prances off down the track until I can't see her. When I do see her she's standing there looking at me and saying come on throw the stick, only to find she's hidden it and expects me to find it. Got sucked into that a few times now say to her show me the stick so she trots along and points and there's the stick hidden under bushes or even bark. When we get to the paddocks with the high grass, she hides in it thinking she can't be seen, problem is when she lifts her head to see where I am through the grass her black kelpie ears give her away so she jumps up races through the grass then drops down again.
Life goes on Dot and having great fun riding my VTX 1800, hope to have a chair on it soon for the dogs. The weather is perfect for riding around 20 most days with showers most nights and some rainy days. Early mornings walks just after dawn are what I like, when everything is waking up and the world is fresh and full of life.

Good morning.
Another (had the day off) day
Carol went to bingo...didn't win
Next door toe must be a problem...his wife has taken the week off to take care of him...I think he's a sook
Nothing in the pipe line here...I will take a pic of the side of the motorhome...I need a panel off...but that will be later today. Hopefully someone will know.
Almost light enough to start my morning walk...I do wear a bright red T shirt so traffic can see me
Keep safe .
Bernie.

Good morning All.
On 9/1/24 I spoke to my GP about worsening hoarseness of my speach and he sent a referral to a Specialist. I called to make an appointment and was told it would be triaged and they would advise of an appointment date. I called numerous times with no result.
A week ago I asked my GP to send a referral to another specialist, whick was done and i was told that they would phone me regarding an appointment. Having not received a call I called the specialist's rooms this morning only to receive a recording stating that they were having a day off and suggesting I phone tomorrow.
While out doing a little shopping this morning a message was left on our landline to call the original specialist's staff and when I did I was advised that I could have an appointment on 12th March, two months after the referral was sent.
I will see what result I get from specialist No 2

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. It's a beautiful sunny day here, with a light breeze blowing across the lake. Have started packing up from our backyard camp. The current plan is to leave here tomorrow arvo and head home. Hopefully all will go well with the medicos and the in-laws. Otherwise......
I hope all the sickies are on the improve.
Have a great day everybody, safe travels.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morn/arvo. Great day warm and sunny with slight breeze = perfect. Had a call from G's dentist after my blast last week which left G looking like a cross between a Collingwood supporter from Elizabeth and crack user. I was not pleased with what was done and esp the cost. I asked him about pensioner discount and he said "OK" for G's next check up. $1200.00 to be transformed like G was. Rang the vet as Brian has been very lethargic the past week and he is due for dental work next week so am taking him for check up. I even got a wee sample off him
. G is glueing a bit of carpet down , the seam came undone.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. I know it's the middle of the night and still very dark here. We are planning on heading off home today, so might not get a chance to check in later on. Just have one last appt at the GP for the MiL to get some forms sorted. We plan to head east over to Albury then straight up the Hume hwy and through the tunnel around Sydney. It won't be a sight seeing tour.
I hope it's a nice day for travelling.
Happy hump day everybody. Safe travels all those out and about.

Morning everyone.
Safe trip Dave.
I got up to nothing again yesterday...temp around 37...with high humidity.
Not5hing planned for today...might lay under the motorhome with a torch to see what ever.
I did see 5 Peafowl on my walk...looked to be 3/4 grown plus I could here the Brolga's but not see them, the bridge had been flooded plenty of debris laying around. I haven't walked down this way for over a year...it's my longest walk about 5Ks + round trip.
The temp here at the computer is 27.5...
Keep safe.
