Bollon west of St George is a good free camp, big level flat area along the Wallam Creek, dump point at entry, drinking water taps, septic toilet on site, walk back into town Main Street ladies & gents hot showers.

Whilst it may be convenient to have a gathering nearby, with minimum travel, that will not necessarily apply to all who might wish to attend.

It would therefore seem logical to share the locations around wherever & whenever possible.

To my recollection, since 2011, the following is where the action was.....

2011... Kerang (V) Easter gathering organised by CF.
2112... Kerang (V) Easter gathering organised by CF.
2013... Gentle Annie (V) Easter gathering organised by CF.
2013... Muckleford (V) organised by us.
2014... Ashfield/ & Wongala on the Murray River (SA) organised by us.
2014... 40 Mile Beach (WA) loosely organised by us.
2015... Gum Bend Lake (NSW) organised by us.

In the past 5 years 4 of the gatherings have been in Vic, 1 in SA & 1 in NSW.

So I think it's time to share the locations around a bit & for this proposed gathering I suggest that Qld will be a warmer location than any southern state.

Just sayin.....

**Oops... corrections in RED!** ... thanks Dot.

As Shirley said Bollon is pretty good and not as far north for those travelling from Vic. The only thing I am not sure if you can purchase fuel in town the servo closed a couple of years back but I heard a rumour it was to reopen.

Ok , sounds like a good spot (on the way to warmer climates)
Many of us travel North for the Tropical Winter, never rains and beautiful temperatures...June to September+ as all good grey nomads all know.

We will (for example) be travelling to CMCA Rally in Bathurst at end of May 2016 for the Highway Wanderers Meeting, next stop Dam Fine Rally and V8 Supercars in Townsville beginning of July...then further North. Mareeba is the central meeting point up North for Winter with up to 1200 RVs at any time during winter.

Can't see any reason to be South of Townsville in July unless you like the cold BRrrrrrrr.

Last time we were at Bollon the BP service station was open & the area along Wallam Creek was grassed but Qld has had drought so possibly dirt now, just thought it was a big area that offered most things, there is a pub, hardware store, take away that sell a few essentials, milk, bread etc., very small town, you can donate at the museum or the bush nurse complex.

All of youse lot over there in the East seem to have forgotten that WA has a far better / bigger range of temps and beautiful sites at that time of the year,
Being from WA means that to attend we would have to travel many , many K's to attend a get together and put up with accelerated humidity and varying ( daily ) conditions
Sooooooooooo... maybe a hookup in WA is a lot more practical
It'll even give them that say " I don't know ..... 'cos it's a long way " a real reason to see this side of the country.
