Vik I don't know how long you've had your MH but a rear wheel drive Veccy is a totally different animal than a front wheel drive Kraut!
I'm presuming it's dual tyres on the rear?
As long as you have almost double the weight on the rear than on the steer you will be surprised where it'll go. (or get out of)
If in sand try reversing through it with rear wheel drive. Don't put too much pressure in the rears either. (55 or 60?)
Those compartments over the cab are a trap if a lot of weight is stacked up there.

Try driving a Hino across dirt someone sneezed on and they are rear wheel drive, remember Eddie at Wangulla, when they dragged him out there was hardly a tyre mark remaining

Like the look of the last one, but it would need to tilt forward for the poor sucker who had to work under the bonnet. I see adding a winch as a good move, even if it's for dragging the boat out of the water or dragging in the big one you just don't have the back for these days I would go for a winch front and back, sometimes it might be a better move to get back out from where you are stuck and look for a better way through
