"tanks" here--0-
So, I'm now back in Wyalkatchenm after my trip to Perth for a hospital appointment and a few days of social activity
It's good to be home after the rush of the city. I am about to head out for Scones and Fresh Cream with a cuppa at the local "Old Farts" gathering place. I was only home one night and I have now received a recall from the Haematology Specialist at Royal Perth Hospital.
They want me there on Monday 6th May. No further details are available by phone.
I am still waiting for confirmation of a Lung Specialist appointment at Sir Charles Gardner Hospital. They have given me a slot on Wednesday 8th May, however, this may be altered if another person with an earlier appointment cancels I will slide into that spot.
All of these appointments and changes are going to interfere with my "DOONE" time and I may have to head to Perth earlier, prolong the visit to the City, and have a longer stay-over at Doone's place.
Keith.

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Re: Good morning daily
Had the eye appointment with spec savers yesterday to get a reading prescription contact lense for the left eye to see if the brain can cope with the different vision from each eye and a pair of driving glasses so I have good vision from both eyes so I can drive the motorhome on my heavy vehicle licence.
Then we went looking at induction cooktops to replace the gas stove that has never been used. I took it out to give me a spot to mount the diesel heater and discovered a plumbers mystery tour of pipes for the vacuum toilet .... seems there has to be a certain length of pipe to allow the vacuum enough area to meet the volume of a toilet flush ... but it's still a hit and miss thing so it can go as well to be replaced with the porcelain macerator toilet from big bus .... just need to find a tank spot for that.
Next was taking Bernie's idea with the heater fuel tank mounted beside the motorhome fuel tank. Fortunately, the panel in front of the fuel tank only requires two bolts to remove it, so I'm making up a plate to mount the tank to the outer skin cover to make it easy to get to if ever needed
Thew results of the induction cooktop shopping trip was a new air fryer
and total confusion about what we are going to do for a cooktop
At the moment, all cooking is done on one of those gas can stoves, so it might be a board to fill in the bench top and shelves where the stove was ... to store the air fryer of course

Re: Good morning daily
I have two portable induction cook tops bought of ebay for the bus, the last ebay ones lasted many years but were noisy. Came across someone with ones that were very quiet they got off ebay cheap, so got two. The benefit of induction portable cook tops are you can unplug and put them in a cupboard, giving you more space. You can also set them up anywhere including outside and have carried one when travelling without the bus to use on the road, cooking by the roadside out of a land cruiser, brings with it interesting comments from others. All you need is an PSW inverter and the tailgate down and you have a kitchen. I do run the engine whilst cooking, but using veggie oil means it's very cost effective and some think I'm making fish and chips with the exhaust smell. The cook top sits in the back draws with the tools and takes up very little room.T1 Terry wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 2:11 pm Thew results of the induction cooktop shopping trip was a new air fryerand total confusion about what we are going to do for a cooktop

Re: Good morning daily
Looking at portable cooktops and in bench units, trying to find one with fine control is the real hassle.
We have used the single plate portable ones quite a bit, but the power settings seem very crude resulting in that on/off - boiling/not boiling, and a step lower is not actually hot enough to simmer. We have sort of settled on this one https://gaslandchef.com.au/products/ih3 ... nzEALw_wcB but in the bench long ways like in the photo Rx2 and Jodie Bailey put up ..... It claims to have 9 heat settings for each "burner" at 1500w max for the smaller one and 2000w for the larger one. At $300, if it isn't up to expectations, it's a lot cheaper than the Hardly Normal choices starting at $1500 each
The rated 3500w is within the capacity of the 15 amp 1600w circuit I already have wired close by, so that's a bonus, might even cheat and put a 15 amp lead and plug on it so I can just plug it in .....

I'm waiting for the vac loo to get replaced. I might have to buy whatever is salvageable for spares for ours., which we both love. No smell, just need a stick some times, and I still get to empty the cassette.Dot wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 4:57 pm discovered a plumbers mystery tour of pipes for the vacuum toilet .... seems there has to be a certain length of pipe to allow the vacuum enough area to meet the volume of a toilet flush ... but it's still a hit and miss thing so it can go as well to be replaced with the porcelain macerator toilet from big bus .... just need to find a tank spot for that.

Re: Good morning daily
My knees aren't up to the squat required to get down to the seated position, then back up to the standing position. To get enough space in the bowl requires either that squat-hoover manoeuvre that some seem to use so they don't actually sit on the seat, or holding the flush pedal down which then requires the vac pump and the water pump to be turned off, have a bottle of water ready (one pass through the kidneys type seems to work fine) then turn on the vac pump on, while the pedal is still held down, and hope it goes through to the keeper or enough to let the slide shut, then add the nappy wash crystals and some more water, let the vac build up, then send that through to the keeper as well .... then turn the vac pump off and the water pump back on so the hands can be washed.
With the porcelain bowl macerator toilet, it's normal toilet height, has plenty of room in the drop zone and a short press of the button sends it off to the keeper and water remains in the bowl to act as a smell seal .... and the deposits are always broken up and mixed with the nappy wash crystals to product a much better product for later disposal
It also gives me the option of installing a larger holding tank to empty at the next facility, or down load into a port-a-tank to wheel off to the dump point if needed ......

EDIT: and the plumber's magical pipe assembly would now be in the cupboard that will go in place of the oven and grill part of the gas stove. Know anyone who wants a never been used gas stove (3 burner and one electric element) griller and fan forced oven ... well I think it's fan forced, I'll have another look in the morning, the mozzies are in attack mode at the moment so I'm staying inside

Re: Good morning daily
Terry your loo sounds like someone has done things back to front, here is how you use it...
1/ lift the loo lid
2/ sit down and do your business
3/ Put the lid down
4/use the foot pedal by a short sharp push down.
5/ If there was streaks then lift the pedal up to put a bit more water in the bowl to clean it.
6/ PUT the lid down and flush again.
Never flush the loo with the seat up
We usually turn on the water pump on before using the loo..
When G installed ours he increased the height to the height of the house loo. .

Dot, why can't you flush with the lid up. Sometimes its the most exciting part of the exercise.
