Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Good morning.
Guess bloody what...the spaces were a no show... went to their tracking place... now says Monday 😑😑😑
That made me grumpy so I didn't even think about mowing 😁.

Looks like I will be up in the ceiling today sometime...I have a light not getting any power... power at the switch... but not to the light 😑

We got one of those scuds, it rained for about five minutes...
And it's a warm morning it's 15 outside heading to the early 30s.
I guess I will have to water her gardens... and think about mowing.
Again 😁😁.
Keep safe everyone.
Bernie.

same for Sorell just for fruit , you must have been on a mission NP.
Was it just for the surf.??
No rain here but scuds are about.

Bernie, been a traveller all my life since a kid, covid slowed that and our band collapsing because of age and illness has meant travelling has become scarce. Now go to Aus each year and play with friends in the snow season, but that's irregular and this year they cancelled then the snow came along, so haven't been anywhere, but think I'm going in late October.

Going for a trip to Sorell or Hobart is a small bonus, checking out surf spots and jumping in for awhile also helps and the dogs love it, buy food for neighbours because it's half the price compared to down here and fuel costs me almost nothing except a litre of diesel shutting down the engine at the end of the day. Also stop at local growers places and check out the old ladies at the shops :o, sadly most are obese and sick so no joy there. But there's some lovely ones around, just got to find them then try to chat them up, but it's much easier if doing a gig. They still seem to want to get to know you even at this age, and surprising, lots of younger ladies (40-60) want to get to know you. It's amazing the effect music and a bit of grog has on people, which is nice to be complimented, but not into younger chicks, prefer ladies who've been round the block and know about life, but still want to enjoy it and have the ability, but they are getting scarcer and scarcer.

Noticed on here or elsewhere that some one counted up the number of places they've lived, so did a mental calculation and was shocked to realise have lived in well over 40 places during my life, this place is the longest at over 25 years, before that 5 years and that was in Canberra where we played 7 days a week during that time. So get itchy feet and have to go somewhere and the bike has helped that, with the bonus of getting a surf and the dogs can frolic in the sea and sand. Being Tas, the beaches are almost deserted except for those closer to Hobart and Sorell, mostly dog walkers. Eagle hawk neck is always almost deserted and unlike Aus, you don't have to fight for waves just pick which ones the best and jump on and they are great even small ones with some nice barrels when the reef is going off.

Today going to a local market, not sure whether riding or driving, will depend on the weather to check out all the cool artists and artisans in the area. The markets are small because there's not many people here, but they are sure talented and make and sell some wonderful stuff. Always come home with something or some local food, luckily just about all of it's organic so can eat it without worrying.

Have a nice day and don't overdo the work, life's for having fun.

Morning All.

Still windy. But guess what... Nigel reckons the rain is coming this week.... almost everywhere.

Was going to free camp at Port Macdonnell but the bus was humping and thumping in the wind. I ended up driving into town and seeking shelter..

Good morning everyone, its a nice sunny morning here by the lake. No wind or rain, yet. But it's coming, Nigel said so.
Got up to bugger all yesty, except went across the lake and watched the local footy teams do there Grand Final parade. The parade was headed up by some wonderful old Lanz Bulldog tractors. The most I've ever seen in the one place.
Not much planned for today yet.
Safe travels everybody. Get well soon, all those that are unwell or in hospital for whatever the reason.
Cheers
David

So, who cut the ties that made Tassie a different country, even when I lived there over 40 yrs back, it was referred to as the "Mainland" or the north island, the locals got offended when anyone referred to it as Australia when visiting, my Nanna got a gentle dressing down for it once ..... had difficulty holding the laugh in, she loved Australia but was still very British, so one of the "colonists" having the audacity to correct her was well worth the mumbling afterwards

Hi Tanks how are you doing xx
Tanks here--- I'm doing well Helen.
I wish I were back in the Queensland tropics
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

it must have been a hell of a shock coming from QLD to country Wylie
from a warm climate to freezing in the winter to boiling in the summer.
I know from my visits and past explorations in the area it can be below zero at night and then above 30 during the day.
Thank gawd I'm in Mandurah where the climate is more temperate.
At the moment I'm suffering the humidity of the Indonesia area but I know it's not permanent

30 during the day ... a balmy spring day for Mannum, try sub zero mornings in winter to 50*C in mid summer, still love the place, just stay inside under the air con when the real hot days hit, you can feel it burning the flesh off you through ya shirt if you get out in the sun on those days .....

Good morning.
Hey I finally done the mowing 😁😁

Plus I scrambled around in the ceiling of the house and fixed the light...yaaa...it was the one over the kitchen so herself is happy again.

I might have the day off...

Yep been to most places in Tassie over 5 visits..I would move there in a heartbeat...or Lotto win
My son's girlfriend comes from Sorrell she grew up on her parents farm...her eldest sister still lives on the farm...
When our kids were down there a cuppla weeks ago they were hoping to see Neil the Seal... but he was a no show.
Not much else on the agenda for today cept some gardening.

That other forum was over moderated and too clicky.

And you guessed it...it's bacon and eggs Sunday πŸ’• 😁.
Keep safe everyone.
Bernie.
