Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Good morning everyone. My tenure as guardian of the gkid has expired and we both survived. I think I finished up wearing the little fella out. I'm back in Mulwala again. It's a bright sunny morning but the man says it will probably rain this arvo.
We are going to start packing up today, getting ready to head home on Tuesday. This is the longest we've ever stayed in the one spot, so there is a bit to do. And the outside needs a wash too.
The AFL Grand Final was a bit of a fizzer, but a good result if you follow the Brisbane Lions.
Safe travels all those out and about. Have a great bacon and egg day.
Cheers
David

Morning all, I got up early because my niece and family rang from the motorway to say they would be popping in. After hugs etc they were back on the road back to Ainsbury (near Melton Vic) Greay kids 14 and 12. Now I am up time for a cuppa then do something outside,

bit wet overnight. There was a 60's band last night. Family affair. Was excellent lots of people dancing, really good atmosphere.
Today, people will be packing up ready to leave tomorrow.

Terry, Forscan is the universal tool. It just doesn't report codes. It can show real time data across all the buses (demanded and actual) and reset all the modules and change some deeper configuration settings. The app is free. The advanced section is free for about a month. The adapter is about $100.

I use it all the time on the Territory. Mainly to reset all the modules. But recently, used it to recode the computer to accept a new valve body in the 6R80 auto.

I thought I'd mention it before you dive head first into it, although, you probably know all this with your 40 years experience. ;)

Below are some of the options in the Territory folders

OK, best I pull my head in eh   Which adapter did you use? There seems to be a lot of them on the site, I liked the look of this one .... but maybe there is a special one to suit the Forscan app

Watch both the NRL prelims, gave up on both by about the 50 min mark, kept buffering and the gaps made it unwatchable ..... might see if there is a replay available ..... but the Roosters were knocked out of the running, there hadn't been a Asofa-Solomona/ Waerea-Hargreaves clash of the Titans, Solomona couldn't help himself and had 10mins in the sin bin in the first 18 secs of the game  It will most likely put him out for the grand final, making it easier for the Panthers to win yet another grand final .... Maybe Nathan Cleary will be out with the shoulder injury ... but probably not, he will be full of "Jungle Juice" all week and before he hits the field next week end .... I wonder if they'll do a drug test on all the players before the game and out anyone cheating ..... yeah, right

Terry,

There are a few about. Forscan recommend one that is made in the US and available though Aliexpress or Amazon.

There are a lot of clones which don't work properly on the fast and slow bus. The new adaptor reads both bases simultaneously.
Great for looking for shared problems.

I wouldn't recommend getting the cheaper ones.

The app is here. Best to download the windows app and buy the USB adaptor above. You get a much better screen with readable information.

Should have put the link in the last post eh  https://obd2australia.com.au/product/ob ... scan-tool/ I'd prefer to use a bluetooth device, that way I can add the custom gauges on a tablet mounted on the dash somewhere ..... something else to look at while driving on those long straight roads  The 100km/h limit for heavy vehicles is very hard to adhere to when the road looks the same as you crest each hill .....

Not the same. Foscan is for Fords. The other thing is a generic thing.

They emailed me virtually asking why I'd looked but hadn't purchased .... cheeky buggers, so I replied asking if that device would work with the Foscan app .... haven't had a reply yet
I looked at this one, but it says it will not work with the F Series Truck and this has a 2000 F-SUPERDUTY Class A Motorhome Chassis .... according to the information book that tells me absolutely nothing about what the multitude of fuses in the chassis fuse box .... that states on the lid to refer to the owners manual for fuse identification

Still haven't located the OBD 2 plug, but there is a box with a multitude of wires in and out the says "OBD 2" on the lid ..... No doubt it will turn up when I remove all this crap up front so I can start stripping the engine down ...... still haven't started that step, Margaret has me doing other jobs to make the living arrangement better .... I reckon it's a delaying tactic because the first things that needs to come out are the two front captain's chairs .... so no where to hang the hand out the window with cigarette smoking away while playing card games on the phone :P

Terry. Don't waste your time and money.

There is only one device approved to work with the app. I've already given you the link. Read the notes on the forscan page if you're unsure.
