Terry are your eye injection expensive?
Because I'm a pensioner and have a good relationship with the specialist, having repaired a few things for him, it just costs me for the injection stuff itself .... I think it's some where around $36 ...... originally, it was well over the $200 mark each time .... might have even been around the $300 mark .....
The whole visit is fairly intense, eye test and report on how the eyes have been since the last visit, dilate the eyes, photos of the back of the eyes, second consultation, this time with the specialist himself to get a progress report and determine how long till the next lot of injections and how the scar tissue is going in the eye that has already had the cataract surgery ..... and how far the left eye has deteriorated since the last visit, then the numbing drops, 5 lots of those, then the eye wash down and what ever the antiseptic stuff they use, then the injection in each eye, then the nurse does the clean up and I bounce my way off the walls to reception, make the next appointment and hand the card over to pay for this trip ..... on with the darkest glasses I can find to keep the sun out .... and try to find where Margaret and Brian are with the car to drive me home ...... by the time I reach Mannum, I can sort of see again, the eyes are very sensitive to bright light until the next day ..... then the whole cycle starts again ....
I never realise just how bad my vision has deteriorated until that day after the injections ...... it's like getting that pr of glass that you've needed for 12 mths or more ......

Our private health insurance only covers us for procedures carried out in hospital unfortunately.

Hi Bernie,
The mixer..... I've set it up so it controls the hot water coming out of the flick mixer.
So, I have cold and 'controlled' hot.
I did this in case it fails and jams on hot, if it does, I can introduce cold.

showing the actual temp of the water. When you press a button, it shows the programmed temp.

You must be close to the point where the medicare safety net kicks in
https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/ho ... text=22001 That is a lot of out of pocket expense for needles in one eye, how often does he need them?

Started out every 6 weeks then gradually the time was extended, just reached 3 months, yes we have reached the the Medicare medical limit, we still have to pay for them on the day, with refund they are now costing $80 each injection, the end of the year it all begins again.
