Bernie, you will find that Carol may have a very strong vocal vocabulary every time the foot hits the ground. It took me right up to week 5 before I noticed that the foot hitting the floor wasn't so hard.
This is something that will take a few months to get settled, so don't get too excited just yet. Week 6 and I have stopped taking painkillers, except for a couple of panadol osteo at bedtime, which has been my normal for a few years.
Definitely take up any physio that is offered. It has obviously made a huge difference to my rehab.
Please wish Carol a happy recovery and remind her to take the painkillers before it gets too bad.

Good morning everyone. I'm up in the Strathbogie Ranges this morning where everything is a few degrees cooler.
I met up with an old workmate yesty arvo, had a few beers at the pub in Benalla and had a laugh or two.
I'm going over Shepparton way today with the mate. He needs a bit of a hand to pick up a gig or buggy and some other stuff.
Well done Shirley. I knew you could do it.
Bernie, all the best to Carol for a successful recovery.
Not must else to report, except there seems to be an awful lot on 'roos and wombats, dead on the roadside lately.
Safe travels everybody.

Modern medical care is to get knee replacement patients up on their feet asap.
and the advice that the knee needs to bend by ninety degrees by a certain day - an over zealous Physio we believe set Rhonda's recovery back by weeks trying to do this

When I had my knee done I was up and walking the next day, thank Gawd for the painkillers!
As well as getting flex in the knee, getting it straight is also very important to stop any sort of limping, which will also cause back problems.

I was out of hospital in 4 days with mine, the guy that does our vine pruning was only in hopital overnight after he had one done ! No physio, just went back to work straight away. When he rang his missus to come and pick him up she though he was on happy pills, had to get doc and nurses to talk to her before sho would come and get him.

After my heart bypass, My over zealous physio had me on the exercise bike for a bit longer and 'up a hill". The heart was ok, but the internal stiches in the leg tore where a donor vein/artery came from. Boy, was it bruised for weeks.
