I have one question for you Dave!
Did you leave your fridge & freezer on & full of food & dog food?
Many years ago our family came home from holidays to a house that had a kerosene fridge in it that 'someone' forgot to fill (with kerosene) before we left.
Looked 'funny' with 5 of us sitting outside as my eldest sister done the clean out & opened the house up.
She was a Rubella bably & had no sense of smell, therefore no vomiting & couldn't see what all the fuss was about.
Good morning daily

That radar does tell you in which suburb it is raining and an idea of how heavy.

Re: Good morning daily
Bruce, when we left home over a fortnight ago there was no hint of a cyclone. We always have stuff in the freezer but not usually much in the fridge.
The good news is, our power is back on now. Kinda bad news is the gkids went round a cuppla hours ago and emptied fridge and icecream etc from freezer.
I only ever worry ago the things that you can control.
If you can't change it, then either walk away. Or piss on it and walk away.
Bandit told me to say that.
Now all we need to be worried about is the flood levels dropping. And that won't happen in a big hurry.
The sky here at Mulwala has gone black as
I hope some rain can fall here. The people on the land need it badly. A lot of the little dams are dry, and I know some fellas are carting water and tucker.

Re: Good morning daily
We had serious Mannum rain storm around 3pm, the 15 drops were actually big enough to hear hitting the awning spread out over around 15 mins, approx. a drop a min
Still trained on the Illawarra rain warning system, around 15 to 20 drops tells you in 15 mins it will p*ss down, get everything out of the rain, including yourself, those rain events were good for a min of 2 hrs, so I dutifully did the rounds and got everything that needed protection under cover .... the locals must laugh when they see me frantically getting everything put away .... only to take it all back out 15 mins later

Phoenix does the same but always pisses on his front foot. Nice is the winter because it's warm. Bit dumb in the summer. If you can't change it, then either walk away. Or piss on it and walk away.Bandit told me to say that

Re: Good morning daily
I had a German Sheperd guard dog that was a Dingo throw back with the star scatter eyes, crazy as a cut snake but as loyal and trusting as anyone could hope for in a best friend.
He once chewed a live 240vac cable as a pup, for the rest of his days, if one was left coiled up on the workshop floor, he would not only piss on it, he'd drop a log on it as well
you couldn't lead him anywhere a cable laid across the floor, unless you walked across it first, he would look up and wait to be told it was ok, then no troubles, near dislocate the shoulder if you missed the ritual though .... A brilliant guard dog and one person or closed family dog, he would die rather than let anything happen to anyone or anything he was responsible for protecting, tough as nails, scary as a nightmare, but unfortunately, he could never be socialised.
Margaret's kids were too young to realise the responsibility that would be involved if I took him over there to live, so I had to leave him with the Ex dragon ..... because that family knew the responsibility involved and she had a lock up escape proof yard .... not that he couldn't clear the fence if he needed to, but he knew that was the boundary of his territory he had to protect
RIP Bo

Re: Good morning daily
Dot, have you arrived back in Aus yet mate? xxxx
We have had quite a weekend in Glen Innes. The huge winds and pouring rain have been torrential. Van has rocked mercilessly each night (from the winds you lot) and kept me awake.
Our sales have been proportional to the cyclone event and we are not screaming out loud with huge profits.
The local gov warned all the good people of the Northern tablelands to stay home, this morning, due to flash flooding and rood closure. Obviously we didn't have much chance after that warning. We have had a few good sales and the best one was to the local art gallery. They bought a nice plate to use as the prize in their raffle for a big event. That gives me some advertising for free and shows my work to some artsie fartsie people, who may or may not, come to visit me next year. Time will tell.
Tomorrow, we will head off to Armidale caravan park for a few nights followed by the showy for another event next weekend. The showy is still closed for camping, due to their annual show this weekend....bet that was a wet fizzer too.
night all
