Re: Good morning daily
It's been a bit like Groundhog day up here over the last week. Every day in the high 30's so not much is being done outside. Tomorrow is supposed to get to 42deg. and then cooler on Sunday so I may be able to get some much needed pruning done in the garden. The grape and almond growers are loving this dry weather for harvest but it is very dry up here and a bit of rain would freshen things up. Don't need as much as coastal NSW and Qld. are getting though. Cheers John

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning All from London. 1* here.
We are off to see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace and a view from the Tower Bridge. We did a lot of walking and train riding yesterday, starting with a walk thru Hyde Park. It drizzled with rain a bit but we did see the sun a few times.

Ormonde is my favorite kings guard horse that "sorts out pig tourists" George my very very wonderful friend if you are within the vicinity of his presence (changing of the guards) would you please try your best to get a photo of him (but not too close
)
I would be ever so grateful, Never mind if you can't. Hope you have a great time over there, keep warm. Going to be a nasty day tomorrow 40degs expected. Watched the F1 today and back to the BOB's later tonight. Everyone take care if in the heat zone, keep fluids up and Bernie that means water

Morning everyone.
Looks like George changed his watch to pommy time, it wasn't morning George
...
I finally mowed the lawns...
And received the new wheel bearings in the mail. So now I'm only waiting for the clearance lights to arrive... tracking sez Monday
.
Luckily we are not getting the high temperatures here like the southern states...but the aircon did go on after lunch.
Update on our son... they have been doing tests and have told him that next Tuesday they will be doing the jump start on his heart...
Nothing planned for today except putting wheel bearings on the trailer...
Keep safe and cool...
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
We’re heading for an official top of 37 today.
I can confidently predict that our weather station will register a top of 42+, maybe even a 44.
EDIT: I was close… Yesterday the BoM told us that our maximum had been 33.
Our machine recorded 39.9…
A/c will be activated early today…

Mowing will be postponed until Monday: forecast max — 22.

Re: Good morning daily
After a bit of advice from members who have had their cataracts done pls. My year seems to get worse. Had my eye exam for my drivers licence done this afternoon and just in the legal limits. My Cataracts have blossomed over the last year so no have to arrange to see a specialist.
So when you have them done do they do one eye or both at once ? How long before they settle down ?
Will be contacting the specialist on Monday for a appointment.
Another heavy social month with a few specialist to talk to, cheers Robert

Re: Good morning daily
RnB,
I had my cataract surgery more than 20 years ago.
They were privately funded as I had abandoned health insurance once I got my cancer diagnosis. Public hospital care (without a gap payment) was identical to what my insurance offered WITH a gap payment! Same hospital (Royal Melbourne). Even the same doctors.
So, given that I would be up for a couple of thousand dollars per eye, I planned to have one eye done immediately and wait a month to get the other eye fixed.
The difference the surgery made to that eye was so incredible, the day after surgery I phoned the surgeon and booked my second operation ASAP. One week later I had the second eye surgery.
The surgeon’s secretary said this was a common experience.
SO…
My recommendation is that you book yourself in to have BOTH eyes done on the same day.
You’ll need a driver to bring you home.
And I didn’t experience any pain.
I had no eye patches or the like, just eye drops for a few days. Driving again after 2 days (eye test at local optometrist to confirm visual acuity for VicRoads & change licence to remove the requirement for glasses).
All in all, a very positive experience.
Go for it!
