Didn't do much except mow grass and other yard work yesty arvo.
Did a bit of walking early on.
Not sure what's on the list for today yet, I'll find out soon enough.

Three more out, one to go. coffee time. Each one gets a little harder as there is less room overhead.
The dry ice better shrink them enough so the just slide in. (ie better be a good idea.)

At least it's not a 3 cyl Perkins, the sleeves are so thin that have to be broken out .... without damaging the block under it ..... the run with the arc welder is a tad nerve testing, I visualise welding straight through the sleeve and welding it to the block

Been a while since I did a 6DB1 T in chassis rebuild, but I thing the sleeves are a dry fit.
Some reckon WD40 is the go, but I've found auto trans fluid works well for lubrication the block and outside face of the sleeve, before you pack it with dry ice

Today I think I will be going next...he has been trying to install a diesel heater for the last week in his caravan... I'll probably give him a hand...
Nothing else planned that I know of...yet...

Time to start on the reassembly. The head is clean, but not started yet. So, I have about a 1-2 weeks to tinker and get the bottom sorted.

Good morning everyone. Just lost another post to the ether. Operator error.
It's a fine sunny morning here again. No rain.
I spent most of yesty helping the eldest gkid fit a reverse camera to his rice rocket. Not sure what today brings yet.

Wow, I see why you were struggling, did you run the weld bead with the stick welder from the bottom to the top of the liner? This will shrink the liner and make it a loose fit in the block.
I made up a tool from a bit of plate and a lump of steel bar welded to the underside, tack welded the steel plate into the bottom of the sleeve bore and bashed on the steel bar from the underside to push the liner out.
With liners that thick, there is a real risk of cracking the block if there is any corrosion in the cyl bores, that was the thing that killed the original 500 Bedford engine in the Big Bus and why we got it so cheap .....

Next door didn't get his heater finished...it's painful watching him work...a one day job has taken over a week
I shopped around yesterday for insurance for the motorhome...CIL are almost nine hundred less than my current insurance company...I will see if they can match it.
I think another slow day today... unless herself finds me something to do
