I always fine the word ''practice'' a bit disturbing
Doesn't practice mean doing it again and again till you get it right ?

Yep! Ron I think that's what they were doing!
Who else would stitch an arm in a mouth as a tongue & then try to cover it up by stitch a bit of leg over the arm wound?
Next they'll be stitching the middle finger to the tongue!!

Totally agree we would not be without private health insurance & can mean the difference between life & death, better to go without other things & have the security of knowing that you have choice of surgeons & can been treated immediately.
So pleased you received a favourable report from the surgeon Dot & hope it continues improving, great result.

Thanks Shirley, yes so far so good :) as long as people take notice of any changes in their bodies no matter how silly they may feel by getting it seen to and if not happy with the "explanation" then go get another opinion.

Bruce that was a good suggestion as to what might have been or maybe might be

Hey, Dottie,
Just caught up with this thread in a 'quiet' moment (SWMBO is shopping :D )...
Been a looooooong time since I have been on the forum for more than 30 seconds. And it's difficult to read on the phone.
Last time I checked in, you were waiting for surgery. That was first days of Nov!
Now Christmas is galloping toward us....
How's the recovery going. Speeth Therapithst OK? ;)
And the Arm/Thigh :o thing?

We have Grandparent Duties booked for most w/ends in January, but if you'll be at Home Base in Feb, we might be free for a dash to SA. :D

Ray we should be around the place in Feb but who knows ?. What a weird day it was today, started out by me dropping the Gman off to have his check up endoscopy so I went off to see my physio friend, once again I came home with some tomato chutney plus a big bag full of vine ripened tomatoes excess to her requirements for her charity. While we were chatting away I felt something like a metal thing poking out of my tongue way up the back so I got AJ to have a look and yep sure was so I dropped into the surgeons rooms and left message for him to ring me when he was free. He did that and I told him why I wanted him to call me and he said it would be a clip that was used to anchor the tongue, said the body will eith reject it or would make extra tissue to cover it, nothing to worry about and I see him in a few weeks. He also commented on how well I was speaking and that he could understand what I was saying :D :D .
PLUS while Iwas waiting for the come pick G up call I parked right near the hosp but put $0 into the ticket machine for over an hr. I was standing right in front of the car when the ticket inspector came along and started writing a ticket for a car a few spots from me so I went to him and asked if he would assist me as I didn't have my glasses to read the instructions, I said I was waiting for the hosp to ring me so he said just stay by your car and not to bother putting $ into the machine . When I got the call from hosp I then put $1 into the metre and got half an hr so went and got the old boy and came home.. How cool was that ticket man

From reading the report the surgeon gave him in the recovery room all looks "normal" but shall wait till the biopsy results come back. Find out this Friday :)
I have been trying to extract the piece of steel from my tongue but it won't budge even when I clasp the forceps on it. :D
