You wouldn't be the first person to suggest that but you actually have to make a profit for tax to become an issue, but that was not any part of the planning process I can assure you. I can no longer handle any business type issues or confrontations without lashing out verbally and lopping heads off, followed by a headache that would kill a dog and lasts for weeks. When Margaret suggested we should turn the whole backyard affair into a business, I said there was no way I could handle it and she would have to be the business boss and take charge of it all, so she did and has done a brilliant job of it. I couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery these days, but Margaret keeps the whole thing ticking over and keeps me in line as well, and that last bit is a full time job anyway

Looking real good Bernie, we never actually got to the painting stage on the outside of big bus, but maybe one day ... who knows eh

The Hino has been a very good girl since our failed start, going like a demon and only wanting fuel in the tank. We are now at the Bodalla job and hope to head up to Wollongong this afternoon.
Lots of burnt down this way, but the green is starting to reappear in some spots like around Mogo, but out here on the edge of Bodalla Lake the trees have not put out any sprouts yet, they look real burnt. Must have been very scarey living out here at the time, the trees across the lake are all burnt and the trees all along the road in here are burnt as well ... about the only spot to escape would have been the middle of the lake and wait till the fires went out.

Made it home by 1am this morning, Hino went great, batteries and solar performed faultlessly, wish I could say the same for the inverter. The inverter we fitted was one that had thrown error codes on a house install so we replaced it but couldn't get it to play up again at the workshop. Sure way to test anything like that, put it in a critical supply situation and then head off to the other side of the country  Now to restart the warranty process ...... and replace the inverter yet again  The problem is, when it was behaving itself, the 4,000w output capacity was very handy so we can't go back to the 2400w output capacity unit we had in there before ..... bugga, now I have no inverters to put in the house off grid set up until we buy more from China and who knows how long they will take to arrive

No idea Vik, I've never looked and don't have a tendency to check out size, ya might have to ask Dottie about that sort of thing, but I still would have thought 3" or 4" might be more in the throw it back and let it grow range ..... or were you thinking of an extension to an existing asset?

You only need more inverter output if you plan to use lots of 240vac things at the same time. With the bigger inverter we can have the air fryer going while the fridge is cycled on and run the coffee machine at the same time while still charging the phones etc. Only something you need if you are always time poor so everything needs to happen at the same time. With the 4kW inverter we can now look at fitting the 3 element induction stove top in place of using the gas can stove, handy when it's cold outside because the cans keep freezing up so they need to be swapped out regularly and heated up ready for their trip in the gas stove. We could use the single element induction cooktop I guess, now we have the extra inverter capacity ...... that is probably more likely what will happen, getting time and my act together as a combined force is a rare event and never seems to be used for working on our own vehicles unless something breaks while we are travelling
