Rutherglen went from Summer straight into Winter, bypassing Autumn altogether (unless you count one day as a ‘season’).
Now it seems likely we’ll flip straight into Summer again!
32 deg yesterday, 33 today!
At least the garden thinks it’s Spring…
Good morning daily

Re: Good morning daily
Bernie, the owner of that mare and goal would be happy.
Your shade house is way bigger than I thought it would be. Ours is much smaller but was still an absolute P.I.A to assemble. How many beers did it take to calm down when finished ?

Ray , your Spring explosion of colours looks pretty good. I have trouble getting grass to grow here. Too much sand.
Cheers

Good evening everyone. Oh the foal love the horsey smell.
Strathalbyn had the highest rainfall at 6mls but also very windy.

Re: Good morning daily
Your kangaroo still looks cold Ray, he might need a blanket.
The young foal has a big life ahead of him, his mum looks to be in fine shape as well.
Will that shade cloth be enough to protect the plants in full sun Bernie? We had to double layer the 90% stuff over the tomatoes, chillies, and what ever other vegies we had in the big pots on our front patio to stop the summer sun from burning them all the way down here in SA ..... but that might have been the extra hr of sun causing that
Dave, if you get that stuff that looks like rat droppings and bags of coffee grounds from:
Bunnings garden Dept from the their cafeteria
Maccas if you ask the barista nicely to save you a few bags
Your favourite coffee shop .....
Or sit there while you wonder why you can't sleep and empty coffee pods
...... and spread that across the sandy soil, either Kikuyu grass that seems to survive just about anything or Buffalo that takes lots of love and care https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcPJtfFjg1o or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suZR5LIEAxo&t=6s does a rundown on lots of different type

Re: Good morning daily
Terry, I reckon that the grass will do as good as it can without much help. It's very rare that anything here gets watered unless it's raining, if we aren't here. I've even paid the gkids to come around and water things and mow grass etc. But you can just tell that they came around two days before we get home. But they do give all the ferns and orchids out the back a decent water occasionally.
We'll get some lawn when we finish touring I think. I'll just dream about it til then.

Re: Good morning daily
Morning all sunshine and a max of 25c expected today, will be nice. Nothing really planned except sorting out more excess gear to sell.
Have a great day cheers Robert

Good morning.
As reported most of yesterday morning was working on the shade/ hot house... there is only one more thing to do she wants blue metal along the bottoms of the shelves..
There is another mare across the road pregnant...so another foal will emerge..I don't know when..
Time will tell T1 if the shadcloth is enough...I'm just about to put the extra shade cloth over the veggie green house... having trouble keeping them watered at the moment with all this hot weather
.. today's predicted temp is 34.. but it will no doubt go above that.
I also mowed the back lawn.. front today.. maybe
.
Dave the shade house is two metres square..
Keep safe.
Bernie
How quickly it fills

Good morning All. a beautiful 18* with 22* forecast.
Bernie, when you say "two metres square" do you mean two square metres or two metres by two metres?
