Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dave - have you had a chance to talk to repairer re what they propose to do or still in assessment stage ?
Eddy, the repairer explained what he thinks he'd like to do. But the insurers are still fluffing about getting fire reports etc. They haven't yet accepted the claim, so it hasn't been assessed yet.
As T1 will no doubt confirm, nothing happens fast with a fire claim in insurance world. If it wasn't insured it would be fixed, finished and back on the road.
If/when it's accepted, we'll pull out the old 3way, disconnect and plug or cap the gas line, then figure out exactly how big of a domestic inverter fridge will fit in the space available.
Unfortunately, I can't see that happening in a hurry. And seeing as the old roof rattler has to come off to reskin and possibly reinsulate some of the roof, we'll get a new inverter airco fitted as well,at the same time. We had planned on upgrading the airco anyway. It'll hurt the pocket but maybe save some time, down the track.
Ummm...... I hope you haven't mentioned your thoughts about fitting a different fridge and air conditioner, assessors get their knickers in twist claiming it may have been staged with the intention of upgrading appliances at the insurers expense .....

Best to wait for the assessors quote to repair, if it's not a substantial amount, get the insurer to agree in writing that if further damage is discovered while the repair is progressing that is linked to the fire damage, this will be reassessed and added to the total amount covered by the insurer ...... they will either panic and claim it is an economic write off .... or they will agree to those terms and supply the acceptance of possible additional costs in writing ...... get it in writing, a verbal agreement is worthless, but they can't fight an email reply .....

Once you reach any of the above settlements, take the money and pay for any repairs/improvements .......

The best outcome is an economic write off, from there you can decide if you want to buy the motorhome back from the insurer, bid for it at auction, or take the money and buy something else ......

After being involved in insurance claims as a repairer as well as a victim, they are absolute snakes when it comes to a claim and will try anything to wriggle out of paying what is a fair price ......

Terry, did you not read the part that mentioned that it hasn't been assessed yet, or the other part that said, we'd planned an upgrade and it will hurt the pocket a bit. Thanks for the sermon.
Cheers

Maybe I should have had a few hymns first ... like ads from the insurance companies

I just didn't want you to end up in one of those insurance quagmires where something said as an off hand comment ends up causing all sorts of problems further on in the claim process.

It is a surprise that it hasn't at least had a preliminary assessment and an inspection from a fire investigator desperately trying to find someone else they can pass the problem on to or look for financial recovery later .....

Terry, I worked for RACV Insurance in the Total Loss area, many years ago. Unfortunately, I know how their systems work.

Good morning everyone.
The Hino didn't get a look in yesterday 😡
Someone handed me the hedge clipper..so now both sides of the hedge are done ...I'm going to try and not do the top today... wish me luck...😁😁
I'm still thinking about shortening the leg... but wether it's from the top or bottom....I can't find anything about doing it on Utube...
Yes I liked the rivalry between Moffat and Brock.. back in the day... I never seen them race in person but the others Terry mentioned..I seen at the track...
But in the meantime... it's bacon and eggs day... yaaaay.
It's going to be another warm and muggy day..
Keep safe everyone..
Bernie.

Top Bernie.

That way, none of the adjusting parts are changed. You're just lowering the barrel.

To check, mount a leg on the hino. Mark where it will be cut. Then extend it like you're using the awning. See if it all check out ok.

Good morning everyone. It's a little bit rainy here this morning. Nothing like Darwin is copping at the moment though.
I achieved a total of not very much yesty, just some cleaning and tidying up.
Haven't got a plan for today yet. Might just do some cooking.
Have a top day everybody, safe travels all those out and about.
Cheers
