Good morning everyone. No rain here, yet. But it's coming.
The young gkid took me for a drive yesty arvo. He's getting his hours up for his L's. He's still a little aggressive with the clutch but that will change with practice. No kangaroo hopping though.
Today looks like yesty, weather wise. I might go for a walk before it gets too hot.
All my friends in the Euroa/Strathbogie area are safe and well, with no property damage yet. The wind keeps changing which is keeping everyone on high alert. The power came back on this morning, its been off since Wednesday. If the roads were open they could get into town and maybe get some fuel and fresh bread and milk. At least, that's what they're hoping.
Stay safe everybody, the weather is a bit weird at the moment.
Good morning daily

Re: Good morning daily
I think I might have finally turned a corner, old bed angle iron to make up a frame, spent yesterday making up a splitter box so the 5mmsq 32 amp cable now has two 15 amp extension lead outlets, one for the Winnie and one for the mig welder or EV charging as required. With the air con trying its hardest and the fridge, then the hot water has a heat cycle, and Margaret turns her kettle on to boil, not enough left for charging the MG4 and the 15 amp breaker in the Winnie trips.
Hopefully, this will stop the Winnie circuit breaker from tripping when the car is charging, and I can plug the welder into power without having to unplug the Winnie.
Eventually I will fix the cable from the inverter to the main board ..... I was going to do that when the fridge was out, but that has been put on the back burner because the fridge is working well again
So, today will be welding up the stairs mounting assembly ....

Terry, as you well know, those dinosaur 3way absorption fridges are so 19th Century. They are great for being parked up, but bloody useless if you are trying to make a mile. Two hours travel per day at best, and they seem to work OK.
I've done a fair bit of researching since ours caught fire. They are only supposed to last 10-15 years. Ours lasted 19 and a bit.
Just be wary when you are running it on gas.
I've had the luxury today, of laying underneath the older gkids shitbox Hyundai Getz replacing the starter motor. I can't do the old lay on the back and look up thing anymore. Sends my head spinning. And I've got a fat lip for my effort. It wasn't the 12mm socket that did the damage, it was the ratchet attached to it.
Anyway, that will be free beer for a cuppla weeks now, so I can't complain, and hopefully he's learning something.

Getz. Good car. Ours is upto 217,000.
Just keep the oil up. They use a bit when getting old... The light comes on to tell you when it needs more.

Stay will clear of grandpa when he's swinging spanners, if he gave himself a fat lip, no telling what injuries he could cause to anyone close by ......supersparky wrote: ↑Sun Jan 11, 2026 3:10 pm Terry, as you well know, those dinosaur 3way absorption fridges are so 19th Century. The mighty Blade is built on a 2010 Getz body .... it now has a cracked windscreen to go along with the collection of dents courtesy of the Gypsy trailer .... When the new solid state Donut lab batteries reach the market, I might buy a set and repower the Blade .... it would probably qualify for the Bay to Birdwood classic run by then, min vehicle age is 30 yrs I believe

I believe Blade in Castlemaine still have new engines for them. They were removed to do the EV conversion and put on the market, but there weren't many takers as far as I know.
They are a proven body for an EV conversion

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone, can't believe those dam fires in Vic again , heard that a few people that were burnt out last time still have not been paid out from the last big fires so what happens this time for the poor buggers? getting a bit tired of the news, they keep showing the same thing over and over. The utter rubbish on tv is repeat after repeat after repeat. Greg and Dee from Collinsville Qld are ok just pouring down rain and Glad jd's place is ok as well. Have a nice day.
