We is still alive and still going, just a tad slower now after the eng grabbed no.2 piston due to oil loss. Turned out to be both a split hose to the vacuum pump and a split hose from the vacuum pump to the sump. sprayed a total of 16ltr oil over the exhaust and ringht hand side of the Mazda underside and the trailer. Not the most pleasant working conditions, but it could have been worse I guess. Though we had fixed the problem in the IGA car park, 2 day strip out and reseal the vacuum pump, 9 kms down the road, no oil pressure, another 4ltr, another 9kms, same thing. Hitch a ride into Yea, buy 12ltr oil, hose and a hose clamps, got back to the Mazda around 4pm, just as it started to get dark, didn't get a total fix till 9pm after finding there were 2 broken hoses, not just 1
we is at a rest stop between Albury and Holbrook, one of those bypassed town set ups, nice and quiet, choofer burning well, life is good 8-)

Not free, Peter, Gunning that is. Donation box at servo opposite. Dogs OK. Pays to get there early in the afternoon. When we were there last most of the shopkeepers had a petition going requesting the council to keep the rest area open as the council were wanting to have visitors go to the caravan park.

If not for the rest area, why would anyone visit Gunning, apart from the pub of course?

You ain't kidding about the cold, we had to put a blanket on the choofer to keep it burning  commisioned the 36v Aldi chainsaw, been cutting up everythig in sight and feeding it to the choofer to keep it warm, I'm keeping warm by running around getting more wood
Inverter is on, oil column heater thing is plugged in and so are the electric blankets, this place makes Taggerty seem like the Bahamas

I reckon the mazda will need a proper loving when you get back so next time you go away, you are not doing roadside grovels every 2000 k!

Geez Terry, I thought I had a bad run with a failed Alternator and a hole in the radiator!
Hope you get it all sorted out!
