I think the roots go back to the US and chev/GM. The electric hybrid Volt is based on the same body, came out first in the US, then Aust but the body is supposed to be an Aust design... who knows these days

Most Holden's originate in Europe I believe.
In 1962 my Yugoslav BIL: migrated to Australia & couldn't believe the EK Holden was made here.
It was sold in 1960 in Europe as an Opel.

That one is a bit of a mystery. Holden have quite a history of building engines so it is not out of the question for it to be an Aust built engine.

I think the similarities between a 1962 Opel and a 1962 Holden are only in the form of a few GM styling cues - taken from mid 50's Chevs.

I haven't researched this subject but my recollection is that the recent Holden Cruz vehicles are Daewoo built bodies and some with Australian built motors. I could be wrong, but I never have been before.

G finished making and putting the shelves up in the shed at the back of the op shop so before any bags were taken from the sorting room we took all the bags I have sorted and packed down and put them in the shed. It took two trips but we now have our garage back but the pergola still has some stuff awaiting delivery to another charity but 60 large garbage bags of clothing has now left our building :D :D Tomorrow I intend to go out, might even go for a coffee with the boring one aka Helen. Might even take the G man as well he has worked his little bum off for this shop.
