I always thought the Omicron numbers were a bit rubbery.

This may give the conspiracy theorists some traction and tread on the good work done already .....

They need to get a grip of themselves.
I can see this is going to skid to a stop and end badly.

SWMBO went to the bank today.
Girl behind the counter was not wearing a mask.
It was a condition of entry that CUSTOMERS had to be masked (how things change, eh?

).
SWMBO challenged the girl.
“I’ve got an exemption.” she replied.
SWMBO’s response: “Well, Covid won’t give you an exemption.”
Blank look from girl. “What do you mean?”
“You can still catch Covid.”
“I’ve already had it.”
“You
can get it again.”
Shrug of shoulders and she continued the transaction.

What hope is there for containing Omicron with attitudes like this?
SWMBO & I are in the prime danger age from Covid. This girl could put both of us in danger of joining the increasing death toll from Covid.

I would of taken her a baking tray (aluminium ) one of course. Actually I wouldn't I would of asked to speak to the manager, she should not have been on the desk for a start and did she show her exemption card? we the general population have to.

attitude?
She obviously has an exemption. She wouldn't be able to work in a bank environment with out it being valid. Her boss and bank policies would be all over it. She's probably more sick from people trying to preach to her.

Yep, and so could every one else that you walk past on the street..... Mask or no mask

Jd Even if she had an exemption she should not be directly dealing with the public (IMHO) She could do other work rather than on the counter As I said we have to show our exempt cert so why not her? Re the mask, if the wearing of a mask drops the chance of catching the bugs even by 10% to me and others with autoimmune issues then it is worth it.

Agreed Dot. I would have refused to have her deal with me and asked to speak with management. It's your right to feel safe in any business environment. Even if it meant having to wait on another line, it would be worth the wait.

Was there a plexiglass shield between the teller and the customers? This would stop her being able to breath directly into the same air stream as Joy was exposed to, greatly reducing the risk of breathing in air she had breathed out and also getting it in her eyes, yet another potential exposure spot you could catch the virus through.
