Well it's Tuesday, Drove from Ilfracombe to Winton 207km. Winton The BIrthplace of Qantas [registered here 1920]. Parked at rear of the Tatts Hotel, walked aroun town visited "The Matilda Centre" dedicated to A.B.Paterson [Banjo] who wrote the words to "Waltzing Matilda" and first performance was in "The North Gregory Hotel" an excellent centre to go through [1 1/2 hours], lots of memorabilia in lots of places. Saw Arno's wall built out of concrete and anything else he could put in it. Including motorbikes, stoves, sewing machines and even the kitchen sink. Dinner at the Tatts pub [rib eye fillet fresh vegies $23] as tender as. Full glass of red $5. Tomorrow wait and see.

Went to Lark Quarry this morning [125k each way] to see the Dinosaur Stampede. 3300 footprints of small Dinosaurs and 4 of a large one. 95m years ago the big one chased the small and left their footprints, now set in stone. Back at Winton for lunch then to "The Age of the Dinosaurs" 25k away. Here was the bones of a dinosaur about the size of a horse, plus others [lots of others], also a laboratory where they get the bones out of the stone. Dinner at the pub then, Off to the pictures at one of the last out door theatre's left in Aust. [the other is in Broome]. Showed some news reels a couple of cartoons, Our Gang and the Three Stooges. Tea or coffee & biscuits supplied a museum and old projector [still in use 16mm]

Lindsay from WA still runs an out door theatre during the summer season, I think he posts here some times.

Re: Pet-els touring
Not much on today, 1/2 the mob set off for the Middlton Hotel, I stayed as I'm waiting for a hatch cover [broke one going under an awning at a servo]. Visited a truck museum here [Winton] and a musical fence. Someone has set up a lot of "junk" and a wire fence and if you follow the numbers on a board on the fence you can play Waltzing Matilda, there is a set of drums made up of junk yes you can sit and play them.
The rest set off in the morning for Middleton then Boulia. I will wait for the mail to come [about 1400] then chase them to Boulia.
