Re: Quick & Simple Cake & Slice Recipes
Maybe cook it in a hot camp oven, take lid off the last 10 mins...? I have a recipe for a no-knead, crusty, rustic loaf cooked in the camp oven if you want it?

Easy Orange Cake
Anne was given this recipe on anuva forum. We haven't tried it yet 'cos the 100ml of oil sounded a bit odd to me. Someone may be able to explain the need for the oil.
That said, it does look to be a quickie and pretty simple.
Yeah, I know it says 'Orange', but Mandies are just smallish oranges aren't they
Easy Orange Cake
3 whole eggs
1 orange - peeled, seeded and cut into pieces
100ml oil
100ml milk
300g caster sugar
300g plain flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
Method
Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease and flour a 23cm round cake tin.
Add eggs, orange pieces, oil, milk and sugar to a blender. Blend well and transfer to a bowl; mix in the flour and baking powder with a spoon to form smooth cake mixture and pour mixture into prepared cake tin.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or till a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
Vik, mate, this took about 26mins to type, if that's too fast for ya just read slower

Isn't oil yukkier than butter ?
Wouldn't butter be better ?
Maybe this is a poormans/womans recipe.................
I'll give it a bash with butter.

Re: Quick & Simple Cake & Slice Recipes
Lance the oil is what makes the cake softer. You can always try it with only half the oil, but it probably be dry and really 100ml of oil isn't that much as long as you don't use sump oil!
