Yeah, guess it is time & progress but Hunter St., sure did have everything & sure did become a has been shopping area, many of the shops became derelict.
Still a very scenic coastal area for visiting travellers, last year I did the ferry trip up the Hunter river to Raymond Terrace we had lunch at the pub & then came back on the ferry most enjoyable day was had by everyone.
Think we are lucky Newcastle just up the road north & Sydney if you really have to go just down the road south, we sure live in a great spot I reckon & beautiful Lake Macquarie to call home.

It's funny, but in a good way, about how we get a bit parochial about either where we grew up, or maybe grew roots after moving about and found a wonderful place.
I would bet that we all have our favourite towns or cities all with wonderful memories. I know that I have a few for a variety of reasons.
